Job Description & Responsibilities

Persistent Systems is seeking a Director of Business Development, USMC, who will be responsible for growing business by identifying and establishing new customer relationships, as well as maintaining our existing ones for our USMC customers. You will also be responsible for capturing business, managing high revenue accounts, and assisting with programmatic measures to ensure that customers receive the best products and services available for their needs. Additionally, you will be tasked with creating and implementing strategies that will expand Persistent Systems’ customer base on a global scale. 

 

Position Responsibilities 

  • Identifying potential new customers; managing and developing existing customer relationships
  • Developing sales strategies and unique selling propositions to meet sales targets
  • Collaborating with Sales and Engineering to identify new product opportunities
  • Developing and retaining existing customer relationships by presenting solutions to meet customer needs, ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Managing key accounts after the initial sale
  • Creating business proposals, handling initial negotiations, and closing business deals as part of a team
  • Identifying industry and marketing events and trade shows that will provide opportunities to expand the company’s customer base
  • Organizing and traveling to trade shows to identify new business opportunities and strengthen current customer relationships
  • Conducting presentations for large groups of internal and external stakeholders
  • Adhering to established sales-administrative processes that allow for the transparent flow of communication between sales and internal operations teams
Job Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience in an Information Technology or Communications Planner role in the United States Marine Corps
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF) and network theory
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Must be geographically located near Camp Lejeune, North Carolina or Camp Pendleton, California
  • Must have a United States Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a United States Security Clearance

 

 Preferred Qualifications


  • Prior Military Occupational Specialty training as a 0620 (Space and Waveform Integration Officer), 0630 (Network Engineering Officer), 0602/0603 (Communication Systems Officer), 7216 (Command and Control Interface Control Officer)
  • Strong understanding of Marine Corps Operating Forces acquisition/procurement processes
  • Prior Experience interfacing with the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC), the Marine Corps Systems Command (MARSYSCOM), the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory (MCWL), Project Dynamis, Project Overmatch
  • Prior experience interfacing with Portfolio Acquisition Executive Marine Corps (PAE MC)
  • Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act certifications from DAU
  • Master’s degree in information technology or a related field

The compensation for this role can vary from $145,000 to $165,000 a year plus commission based on individual qualifications. Eligible for sales incentive compensation plan.
