About Dusty Robotics
Dusty Robotics is building the future of construction with autonomous layout robots that connect digital design directly to the physical jobsite. Our technology replaces guesswork with precision—helping teams build exactly what was designed, faster and with higher quality.
We’re at an inflection point: strong product-market fit, growing revenue, and increasing complexity in how we sell, price, and deliver our offerings. We’re looking for a Director of Business Operations to help us optimize and scale the business using a rigorous, data-driven approach.
The Role
This is a high-impact, hands-on role for a strong generalist with exceptional analytical horsepower. You will be the first hire dedicated to Business Operations, partnering closely with the CEO and CFO to improve how the company grows revenue and scales profitably.
Revenue Operations sits within Finance and owns the execution of forecasting, CRM systems, and GTM process integrity. Business Operations serves as the strategic counterpart to RevOps — identifying where we should change pricing, offerings, segmentation, and resource allocation to drive durable revenue growth and margin expansion.
Your core mission is simple but non-trivial: deeply understand how we make money — and design the changes that help us make more of it, more efficiently.
This role is ideal for an exceptional early-career MBA with consulting experience who wants real ownership, direct exposure to senior leadership, and a path to broader executive responsibility over time.
What You’ll Do
Develop Deep Business Insight
- Analyze historical revenue, deal structures, and customer behavior to understand what’s working—and what’s not
- Build a clear, end-to-end view of our revenue engine across products, services, pricing, and customer segments
- Model unit economics, margins, customer willingness to pay, and offering-level profitability
- Identify where we’re creating (or losing) value across our portfolio
- Translate messy data into clear, actionable insights
Drive Optimization & Growth
- Shape strategic decisions with data, not slides
- Own initiatives from analysis through execution, ensuring changes are adopted and deliver measurable results
- Propose and evaluate changes to pricing, packaging, and offerings to improve revenue growth and margins
- Evaluate our historical data on pricing, margins, utilization to uncover patterns that inform decision-making across the organization beyond GTM optimization
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Leadership to improve GTM effectiveness
Build the BizOps Foundation
- Establish core analytics, dashboards, and metrics
- Improve data cleanliness and reliability across systems
- Hire and lead a small team to support the business operations of the company
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience
- MBA from a top-tier program (e.g., Stanford, Harvard, Berkeley, MIT)
- Prior experience at a top management consulting firm (e.g., McKinsey, BCG, Bain)
- 0–3 years post-MBA experience; high potential matters more than tenure
Skills
- Exceptional analytical and financial modeling skills
- Strong grasp of GTM concepts across marketing, sales, and finance
- Comfortable working directly with data (Excel/Sheets, SQL or modern analytics tools like Databricks)
- Ability to move from analysis → insight → recommendation → implementation
Mindset
- Highly hands-on; willing to get into the weeds
- Thrives in ambiguity and low-structure environments
- Not a “presentation-only” operator—this role requires doing the work
- Self-directed and proactive; does not need tightly scoped tasks
Why This Role
- A rare opportunity to step into a CEO/CFO-facing role with a clear path to broader executive responsibility
- Be part of a category-creating construction robotics company defining the future of skilled labor
- Build the Business Operations function from the ground up and become an expert in scaling a robotics product
- Have real influence over revenue strategy and the finance function
- Work directly with senior leadership on the most important business questions
- Gain broad exposure across strategy, finance, product, and GTM
