Summary of Role:
We are seeking a strategic and operationally excellent Director of Business Operations to lead the Business Operations pillar within MIPS Strategy & Operations. This role will drive operating rhythm, business insights, resource optimization, and organizational effectiveness across MIPS. The Director will own the frameworks, analytics, and operating infrastructure that enable data-driven decision-making, strategic planning execution, operational health monitoring, and organizational scale. This leader will serve as a trusted partner to MIPS leadership, ensuring the organization operates with clarity, discipline, and execution excellence.
Essential Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Business Insights
  • Partner with MIPS leadership to develop annual strategic plans, translating business objectives into executable initiatives with clear milestones and accountabilities
  • Drive the strategic planning cycle, including environmental analysis, goal setting, resource planning, and quarterly business reviews
  • Deliver actionable business insights through integrated analysis of financial performance, operational metrics, market dynamics, and organizational health
  • Build scenario models and business cases to support strategic investment decisions and growth initiatives
  • Identify strategic opportunities and risks through continuous monitoring of internal performance and external market trends
  • Enable leadership decision-making through synthesis of complex data and clear recommendations
Operating Cadence & Governance
  • Design and own the MIPS operating rhythm, including leadership forums, business reviews, decision-making processes, and communication cadences
  • Establish governance frameworks that ensure clarity of decision rights, accountability structures, and escalation paths
  • Facilitate key operating forums including quarterly business reviews, monthly performance reviews, and strategic deep-dives
  • Drive preparation of materials, agendas, and follow-up actions for leadership meetings
  • Ensure consistent operating discipline across planning cycles, performance tracking, and execution monitoring
  • Continuously refine operating processes to improve efficiency, transparency, and organizational alignment
Financial Operations & Resource Optimization
  • Partner with Finance to manage MIPS budget planning, forecasting, and spend visibility
  • Drive resource allocation decisions aligned to strategic priorities and investment return expectations
  • Monitor financial performance against plan, identifying variances and driving corrective actions
  • Optimize operating leverage through spend analytics, vendor management, and process efficiency initiatives
  • Support business case development and investment justification for major initiatives
  • Ensure financial discipline and accountability across the organization
Organizational Effectiveness & Workforce Operations
  • Drive workforce planning and organizational design to support business growth and operational scale
  • Manage contractor workforce operations, including vendor management, compliance, performance tracking, and conversion pipeline
  • Partner with HR on talent strategy, succession planning, and organizational capability development
  • Identify opportunities to improve organizational effectiveness through structure, process, and capability enhancements
  • Drive change management initiatives to enable organizational transformation
  • Build operational infrastructure to support team productivity and collaboration
Performance Management & Metrics
  • Define and maintain the Business Operations scorecard, tracking organizational health, strategic initiative progress, and operational performance
  • Establish metrics frameworks aligned to business objectives and leadership priorities
  • Deliver regular performance reporting and dashboards to leadership and stakeholders
  • Drive accountability for goal achievement and initiative delivery through systematic tracking and reviews
  • Identify performance gaps and drive improvement initiatives
  • Foster a culture of transparency, learning, and continuous improvement through metrics-based management
Cross-Functional Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Serve as a strategic partner to Product Operations, ensuring seamless integration across MIPS pillars
  • Build strong relationships with Corporate functions including Finance, HR, Procurement, Legal, and IT to enable business objectives
  • Drive alignment across Business Units on shared priorities, resource needs, and operational standards
  • Facilitate cross-functional problem-solving and decision-making
  • Ensure consistent communication and stakeholder engagement across all levels of the organization
Growth Enablement & Operational Scale
  • Identify opportunities to build operational leverage and scale capabilities in support of business growth
  • Drive standardization and best-practice sharing to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Champion the adoption of tools, systems, and processes that enable organizational productivity
  • Build Business Operations capabilities through talent development and functional excellence
  • Bring external insights and leading practices to continuously elevate operational maturity
Other Responsibilities:
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
  • Other duties as assigned by manager
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Operations, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in business operations, strategy, corporate development, or management consulting
  • Proven track record driving strategic planning, operating cadence, and business performance management
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation
  • Deep analytical skills with ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights and recommendations
  • Demonstrated success partnering with senior leadership and influencing organizational priorities
  • Experience designing and implementing operating frameworks, governance models, and performance metrics
  • Exceptional project management and program execution capabilities
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, data visualization tools, and business intelligence platforms
  • Outstanding communication skills with ability to present to executive audiences and drive alignment across diverse stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage ambiguity, prioritize competing demands, and deliver results in dynamic environments
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in semiconductor, manufacturing, or technology industries
  • Background in strategy consulting, investment banking, or corporate strategy roles
  • Familiarity with enterprise systems such as SAP, Oracle, Workday, or similar platforms
  • Experience with vendor management, procurement operations, or contingent workforce management
  • Track record of driving organizational transformation and change management initiatives
  • Knowledge of OKRs, balanced scorecards, or other performance management frameworks

Expected Salary Range

$152,000.00 - $292,000.00
