We are looking for an experienced and strategic Director of PR and Corporate Communications to lead and elevate Egnyte's communications function. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, you will shape how Egnyte is perceived by media, analysts, customers, partners, and the broader market. You will own our public relations strategy, executive communications program, social media presence, and crisis communications function — ensuring every touchpoint reinforces Egnyte's position as the trusted leader in content security and governance. This is a high-impact leadership role for a communications professional who can build and inspire a team, think strategically, and execute with precision.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Public Relations

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive PR strategy that drives awareness, credibility, and share of voice in Egnyte's core markets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with tier-1 technology, business, and vertical media outlets.
  • Manage all aspects of media relations, including proactive pitching, press release development, press tour coordination, and rapid response.
  • Oversee relationships with external PR agencies and ensure alignment with brand and business objectives.
  • Develop thought leadership content and byline strategy in partnership with subject matter experts across the company.
  • Track, report, and continuously improve on PR KPIs including media coverage, sentiment, share of voice, and domain authority.

 

Executive Communications

 

  • Partner with the CEO, C-suite, and senior leadership team to develop compelling narratives, talking points, presentations, and speeches.
  • Prepare executives for media interviews, panel appearances, earnings calls, and industry speaking engagements.
  • Own the editorial calendar for executive communications, including blog posts, LinkedIn content, and op-eds.

 

Social Media

 

  • Set the strategy and editorial direction for Egnyte's corporate social media channels.
  • Oversee the social media content calendar and ensure consistent, on-brand storytelling across all platforms.
  • Lead social media campaigns tied to product launches, company news, events, and industry moments.
  • Monitor social listening and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Track and report on social media performance metrics, engagement rates, follower growth, and campaign ROI.
  • Partner with Demand Generation and Product Marketing to amplify integrated campaigns.

 

Crisis Communications

 

  • Serve as the lead communications strategist during high-stakes situations, partnering cross-functionally to ensure timely and consistent messaging.
  • Develop and maintain crisis communications playbooks and conduct post-crisis reviews to continuously improve preparedness.

 

Team Leadership

 

  • Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing communications team, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous growth.
  • Set clear goals and priorities for direct reports, providing regular feedback, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
  • Manage and optimize the communications budget, including agency relationships, tools, and vendor contracts.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, PR, or a related field, with at least 3 years managing and developing a team.
  • Proven track record of building and executing PR strategies for B2B technology companies.
  • Deep media relationships across business and technology press, with a proven track record of earning coverage in top-tier national, trade, and vertical-focused publications.
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Experience coaching and preparing C-suite executives for media, speaking engagements, and other high-visibility opportunities.
  • Strong social media acumen with demonstrated ability to grow corporate brand presence on LinkedIn and other platforms.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

 

COMPENSATION:

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across multiple U.S. geographic locations, and pay varies based on defined markets. The annual salary hiring range for this position is $190,000 – $225,000 USD. Pay varies by work location and may also be dependent on job-related skills, knowledge, and/or experience. During the interview and/or hiring process, your recruiter can share more information about the compensation package specific to the role and job location.
