The Director of Demand Generation will design and scale a demand generation engine, leading creative campaign development, managing paid performance, and optimizing marketing-to-sales handoff to generate measurable growth.
The summary above was generated by AI

HockeyStack is building the agent infrastructure for enterprise revenue. We spent five years building the only data architecture that preserves causality across the full revenue stack — every interaction, every signal, in sequence. On top of that foundation, we built Nex-lm, a purpose-built AI engine that compiles natural language into deterministic agent workflows. The result is a platform that can extract the revenue blueprint from a company's data, encode it into repeatable automations, and execute it across sales, marketing, and customer success — consistently, at scale.

We are not building a dashboard tool with an AI feature. We are building the operating layer that replaces the human bottleneck in enterprise revenue organizations. This is a category being defined right now, and we intend to own it.

We have some of the top investors from Bessemer Venture Partners, General Catalyst, Y Combinator, and others.

We move fast and we hire people who want to win.

Since launching late 2023, we have grown to 8-figures in ARR, process over 60 TB of revenue data monthly, and we are working with some of the largest B2B companies in the world like Microsoft, Harvey, New Relic, Collibra, etc.

🚀 Your Mission

Build and scale the growth engine at HockeyStack. Not a traditional demand gen function. A pipeline lab where every channel, every asset, and every dollar is an experiment you’re running toward a measurable outcome.

We treat pipeline like a lab. You’ll run dozens of experiments every week, double down on what compounds, and kill what doesn’t. You’ll own the full loop from distribution to SQL to SQO, with the numbers, the craft, and the creative all equally under your control.

This is a founding seat, with real equity, top-of-market comp, access to execs, and freedom. You'll own a production and distribution budget north of $100K+ per month, and operate with the freedom to break things in service of growth that actually moves the business.

🔧 What You’ll Do
  • Run the Experiment Loop: Stand up and iterate on dozens of growth experiments every week across paid, organic, content, community, and emerging channels. Set the bar for how fast HockeyStack ships, measures, and kills.

  • Own Distribution: Turn HockeyStack launches, content, and research drops into distribution events. Our most recent launch hit 4.5M views and 10K engagements. Your job is to make that the floor, not the ceiling, and to build the muscle to repeat it on command.

  • Deploy 6-figures in Monthly Production and Distribution Spend: Make a real budget work against a real payback bar. Own the math: cost per qualified opportunity, SQL to SQO conversion, payback period, net new pipeline.

  • Go Deep on Numbers and User Behavior: Be maniacal about the funnel. Know the SQL to SQO conversion rate cold, understand what prospects actually do after they land, and turn those signals into the next experiment.

  • Partner with Creative: Work shoulder to shoulder with our in-house creative team (design, video, social) to ship work that earns attention on the internet, not just inside a CRM. You’ll brief, edit, and hold the bar on craft.

  • Build the Function: Founding seat. You’ll set the operating cadence, the experiment framework, and the bar for the team. Over time, you’ll hire around you.

🧬 What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a founding operator, not a traditional marketing leader. If you introduce yourself as a "marketing engineer," "GTM engineer," or "growth engineer," this probably isn’t the role for you.

You are MANIACAL about:

  • Numbers: SQL to SQO conversion rate, payback period, user behavior post-click

  • Distribution: getting the work in front of the right people at a scale that moves pipeline

  • Details and craft: the copy, the hook, the thumbnail, the frame

  • Experiment velocity: running dozens of experiments every week

  • Killing fast: if it’s not working, it’s dead, no ego involved

You also:

  • Have owned growth at a hyper-growth company, or launched a new product or motion inside a larger org

  • Move extremely fast, with high urgency

  • Have taste, and break things anyway

  • Are terminally online, understand internet culture, and have no interest in running the traditional B2B playbook

✨ Why Join Now?

We’re at an inflection point. The product is proven, the market is massive, and the opportunity is wide open. You’ll be joining a company with real traction, rapid growth, and meaningful backing—where every person still shapes the outcome. This isn’t just a job. It’s a chance to build something category-defining with people who care deeply about doing it right.

We’re building a high-performing, in-person culture at our San Francisco HQ, where the team collaborates shoulder-to-shoulder five days a week. The on target earnings range for this role is $180,000 to $210,000 USD, adjusted based on experience and qualifications.

HockeyStack is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. We do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, disability, or any other legally protected status. We celebrate diversity and are committed to fostering an inclusive environment for all employees.

What you need to know about the San Francisco Tech Scene

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. That said, San Francisco has a lot to offer beyond technology thanks to a thriving art and music scene, excellent food and a short drive to several of the country’s most beautiful recreational areas.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
