Description

At monday.com, we help teams get more work done. We are the best AI work platform that empowers teams to automate, build, and scale their impact end-to-end with tools that actually execute the work for you. With over $1B in ARR, 250,000+ customers, and a global team, we’re serious about building a product people love to use and giving our employees the same ownership and flexibility to shape the way the world works.

About the Builders organization

The Builders organization brings together Engineering, Product, Design, and Data to build monday.com products at speed and scale.

We operate in small, autonomous, high-talent teams, organized into product pillars - each owning a distinct domain of the product. This structure is optimized for fast decision-making, clear ownership, and high-quality execution, while keeping strong alignment and operational excellence across pillars.

As the Builders organization continues to grow rapidly, operational leadership plays a critical role in enabling speed, quality, and impact across hundreds of builders working in parallel.

About The Role

We are looking for a Director of Engineering Operations to lead engineering operational excellence across monday.com’s Engineering organization.

In this senior leadership role, you will shape how engineering operates at scale - defining the frameworks, processes, and standards that allow predictable, high-quality execution while fostering a culture of innovation.

A key part of this role is driving new ways of working, including adopting AI-powered operational practices that fundamentally improve how engineering plans, executes, and measures impact.

Working closely with Engineering leadership and partnering with Product Operations, you will lead the Engineering Operations function, managing a central high-impact small team while mentoring Pillar Operations Leads to ensure consistency and excellence across the entire organization.

You will lead the Engineering Operations function, build and develop a high-impact team, and mentor Pillar Operations Leads embedded within the product pillars, ensuring consistency, clarity, and continuous improvement across domains.

What will make you successful in this role

You are a strategic systems-thinker with a strong bias for action. You know how to translate vision into clear operating models, guide teams through complexity and change, and stay deeply connected to day-to-day execution. You are comfortable operating at multiple levels — thinking strategically, leading through influence, and stepping in hands-on when needed to unblock teams and turn direction into reality.

You thrive in high-growth, complex environments and view Operations as a strategic catalyst that unlocks speed, clarity, and ownership. You actively push organizations to evolve — embracing AI-driven workflows and modern Agile practices to continuously improve how engineering teams plan, execute, and deliver in an AI-first world.

This role offers the opportunity to shape how hundreds of engineers operate, execute, and deliver impact, playing a central role in how monday.com builds and scales its product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the Engineering Operations strategy, embedding core values of speed, quality, and autonomy into how engineering operates.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve lean workflows for planning, execution, and delivery, aligned with Agile principles and scalable growth.
  • Lead engineering operational readiness for yearly and quarterly planning, OKRs, QBRs, and major cross-organization initiatives.
  • Define and own engineering execution and health metrics, using data to surface trends, guide leadership decisions, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Set and drive standards that protect engineering excellence, ensuring speed and innovation never compromise technical quality or sustainability.
  • Lead the adoption of AI within Engineering Operations, embedding AI into planning, execution, measurement, and operational decision-making to improve productivity and effectiveness at scale.
  • Build and lead a high-performing central Engineering Operations team, while providing professional guidance and mentorship to Pillar Operations Leads.
  • Lead the Program Management profession within the Builders organization, setting clear professional standards, best practices, and development paths, while strengthening the guild as a community of excellence and shared learning.
  • Partner closely with Engineering leadership, Product Operations, and cross-company stakeholders to ensure strong alignment and execution at scale.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in Engineering Operations, R&D Operations, Program Management, or similar roles in scaled tech organizations.
  • Proven experience working closely with Engineering leadership and large, complex R&D organizations.
  • Strong background in building and evolving operating models, processes, and teams in high-growth environments.
  • Deep understanding of engineering execution, delivery frameworks, and organizational dynamics.
  • Strong understanding of how AI can be applied to improve engineering workflows, execution visibility, decision-making, and operational efficiency - a strong advantage
  • Experience leading operational change and navigating organizational transformation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, influence, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to turn insights into action.
  • Fluent English (written and verbal).
