The Director of Engineering will lead the strategy and execution of eCommerce and ERP initiatives, focusing on Shopify and NetSuite, while ensuring scalable solutions and fostering innovation.
We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering – Shopify & (ERP) NetSuite to lead the strategy, architecture, and execution of critical eCommerce and ERP technology initiatives. This role will drive engineering excellence across Shopify and NetSuite ecosystems, ensuring scalable, reliable, and business-focused solutions that support growth and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical leadership, hands-on architecture experience, and a proven ability to partner with business and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and own the engineering strategy, roadmap, and execution across Shopify and NetSuite platforms
- Drive architecture and implementation of scalable eCommerce and ERP solutions, integrations, and platform enhancements
- Partner closely with Product, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technology solutions
- Lead engineering teams through system modernization, platform optimization, and digital transformation initiatives
- Oversee integrations between Shopify, NetSuite, middleware, payment systems, OMS, WMS, and third-party platforms
- Ensure platform performance, scalability, reliability, security, and data integrity
- Establish engineering best practices, SDLC processes, technical standards, and governance frameworks
- Mentor and lead engineering teams while fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and collaboration
- Manage vendor relationships, implementation partners, and external technology teams
- Support platform upgrades, releases, and continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in engineering leadership roles
- Strong hands-on experience with Shopify and NetSuite ecosystems
- Experience leading enterprise-scale integrations and digital commerce platforms
- Deep understanding of APIs, middleware, system integrations, and cloud-based architectures
- Experience managing and scaling engineering teams
- Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills
- Proven experience driving engineering roadmaps and delivering business-critical technology initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in DTC, eCommerce, retail, or consumer products industries
- Knowledge of OMS, WMS, ERP, and payment ecosystems
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Background leading large-scale digital transformation initiatives
- Familiarity with analytics and data-driven decision-making
