Lime is hiring an experienced leader with a background in enterprise applications and software engineering. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator who understands internal technology and has experience with systems architecture in an enterprise environment. They find innovative ways to improve customer(employee) experiences, define standards across technical delivery teams, adhere to and/or set priorities, and track key performance metrics. The Director of Enterprise Engineering will lead the organization responsible for the internal development of Lime systems, both custom and 3rd party. This position will oversee a multi-disciplinary team of engineers who build and manage platforms across various business functions, partnering with a Corporate Product Management team to manage capacity and deliver key priorities. Their mission is to transform fragmented business processes into a unified, automated, and secure enterprise ecosystem that scales with Lime’s global footprint. This person will be critical to improve our existing internal technology environment while ensuring proper governance and controls are maintained. They will have the opportunity to refine and expand the scope of their teams, partner and lead strategic initiatives, and define critical business processes to make Lime more efficient.

The ideal candidate is part strategist, part leader, part builder, part operator. They are a true partner who can build and lead teams while developing consistent and reliable processes to support the entire company.

This is a remote position with a requirement for candidates residing in the United States to maintain effective collaboration across teams.

What You’ll Do:

  • Define and execute the multi-year vision for Lime’s enterprise architecture, moving from siloed SaaS applications to a cohesive, integration-first ecosystem.

  • Manage and grow specialized engineering teams across:

    • Finance Systems: ERP (NetSuite), Revenue Management, and Automated Reconciliation

    • People Systems: HRIS (Workday/ADP), Payroll, and Lifecycle Management.

    • CX Systems: Support tooling (Zendesk), CRM, and automated customer workflows.

    • Data & Integration: Middleware (Boomi) and the data pipelines feeding our corporate data warehouse.

  • Lead the technical evaluation of new platforms, determining when to leverage market-leading SaaS and when to build proprietary internal tools to gain a competitive advantage

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers focused on building and maintaining integrations between corporate systems

  • Define support plans for systems environments, leveraging internal and managed service partners

  • Ensure high-quality, consistent operations in support of a software development lifecycle

  • Perform capacity planning and management, including budgetary responsibilities, for Lime’s Enterprise Engineering team members

  • Partner in contract negotiations with vendors to ensure optimal pricing on licensing, hardware, and professional services while remaining accountable for project outcomes and budget impact

  • Ensure appropriate controls are implemented for the current technical environment and perform ongoing system and process assessments to ensure proper compliance (e.g. SOX, GDPR, ISO)

  • Create and maintain internal engineering policies, SOPS, and governance documents as required in partnership with business and Corporate Technology team members

  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and overall career development to the team

About You:

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to build strong business relationships with key stakeholders and Product partners while adhering to functional priorities

  • Deep knowledge of corporate systems and the broader market for business applications

  • Strong data-driven decision-making skills, leveraging KPIs and performance metrics to drive improvements

  • A passion for continuously improving operational effectiveness while ensuring scalability and accessibility of business systems

  • Demonstrated capability in organizational and resource planning in addition to external vendor management

Preferred Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise applications, minimum of 5 in leadership

  • Past or current experience in software engineering

  • Specific experience with finance applications, preferably enterprise ERP systems such as Oracle or Netsuite

  • Experience working with Agile methodologies and leading technical delivery teams in partnership with Product Managers

  • Strong understanding of Information Security best practices and demonstrated experience partnering with Security organizations

Annual performance bonus, equity and benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, depending on the position offered. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the candidate’s location of residence, the successful candidate's skills, experience and other qualifications. In addition to base salary, some roles may be eligible for a variable performance-bonus based on a combination of company performance, employee performance, and management discretion.
