Our Mission

Healthcare should work for patients, but it doesn’t. In their time of need, they call down outdated insurance directories. Then wait on hold. Then wait weeks for the privilege of a visit. Then wait in a room solely designed for waiting. Then wait for a surprise bill. In any other consumer industry, the companies delivering such a poor customer experience would not survive. But in healthcare, patients lack market power. Which means they are expected to accept the unacceptable.

Zocdoc’s mission is to give power to the patient. To do that, we’ve built the leading healthcare marketplace that makes it easy to find and book in-person or virtual care in all 50 states, across 200+ specialties and +12k insurance plans. By giving patients the ability to see and choose, we give them power. In doing so, we can make healthcare work like every other consumer sector, where businesses compete for customers, not the other way around. In time, this will drive quality up and prices down.

We’re 18 years old and the leader in our space, but we are still just getting started. If you like solving important, complex problems alongside deeply thoughtful, driven, and collaborative teammates, read on.

Your impact on our mission

We're looking for a highly analytical and technically-minded Director of Finance Technology to lead the evolution of the technology and processes that power financial planning and decision making at Zocdoc. In this role, you'll own the strategy, roadmap, and continuous improvement of Finance Technology across Strategic Finance and FP&A, including our enterprise planning platform, forecasting systems, planning processes, reporting capabilities, and AI enablement.

You'll partner closely with Strategic Finance, FP&A, Finance Systems, Accounting, Data & Analytics Engineering, HR Systems, and IT to translate Finance business needs into scalable technology solutions. As AI rapidly changes how Finance teams operate, you'll help shape how we modernize planning, automate manual work, and continue evolving our finance technology ecosystem to improve forecast accuracy, increase team productivity, and enable faster, better business decisions.

You’ll enjoy this role if you are…

  • A builder who enjoys improving systems, processes, and technology to solve complex business problems.
  • Comfortable working at the intersection of Finance and Technology, translating business problems into technology solutions.
  • Passionate about using automation and AI to improve how Finance teams operate and make decisions.
  • Equally comfortable partnering with Finance leaders, Data, IT, and external software vendors.
  • A structured problem solver who can navigate ambiguity, prioritize competing opportunities, and drive complex cross-functional initiatives.
  • A clear communicator who can translate technical concepts into business outcomes for Finance and executive stakeholders.

Your day to day is…

  • Own the strategy, roadmap, and ongoing evolution of Finance Technology across Strategic Finance and FP&A, including enterprise planning (Planful), forecasting systems, planning processes, automation, reporting capabilities, and AI enablement.
  • Lead the ongoing optimization of our planning technology ecosystem, ensuring our systems and processes continue to scale alongside the business.
  • Partner closely with Strategic Finance and FP&A leaders to understand business needs, identify opportunities to improve planning capabilities, and prioritize Finance technology investments.
  • Translate Finance business requirements into technology roadmaps, partnering with Finance Systems, Data & Analytics Engineering, HR Systems, IT, and external vendors to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Evaluate Finance technology investments, including enterprise planning capabilities, automation opportunities, AI tools, and build-versus-buy decisions, developing recommendations for Finance leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to automate recurring planning, forecasting, and reporting workflows, partnering with technical teams to implement solutions that improve efficiency, forecast quality, and decision making.
  • Establish governance and best practices for planning systems, financial models, forecasting processes, and Finance technology.
  • Lead cross-functional technology initiatives from business case through implementation, driving stakeholder alignment, adoption, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Continuously evaluate how emerging technologies, including generative AI, can improve Finance workflows, planning, and decision support.
  • Support strategic initiatives and ad hoc projects that strengthen Finance's ability to scale alongside the business.

You’ll be successful in this role if you have…

  • 10+ years of experience in FP&A, Finance Systems, Corporate Finance, Finance Transformation, or another analytical role supporting financial planning technology.
  • Experience owning Finance technology strategy, including enterprise planning systems, forecasting processes, and the technology roadmap supporting financial planning.
  • Experience leading one or more enterprise planning system implementations or major enhancements (Planful, Adaptive, Pigment, Anaplan, Oracle EPM, or similar).
  • Deep understanding of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling processes.
  • Experience translating Finance business requirements into technology strategy and partnering with Finance Systems, Data & Analytics Engineering, HR Systems, IT, and external vendors to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Experience evaluating Finance technology investments, automation opportunities, and emerging AI capabilities to improve planning processes and team productivity.
  • Strong project management, stakeholder management, and influencing skills, with the ability to prioritize competing initiatives and drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business recommendations for Finance and executive leadership.
  • Relevant experience in technology, SaaS, healthcare, or marketplace businesses is a plus.

Benefits:
