Space is a warfighting domain. True Anomaly seeks those with the talent and ambition to build the technology that secures it.

OUR MISSION

True Anomaly delivers decisive capabilities for space superiority. We build autonomous spacecraft, advanced payloads, mission software, and space-based interceptors — enabling the U.S. and its Allies to secure the space environment and counter threats from the ultimate high ground.

OUR VALUES

  • Be the offset. We create asymmetric advantages with creativity and ingenuity.
  • What would it take? We challenge assumptions to deliver ambitious results.
  • It’s the people. Our team is our competitive advantage and we are better together.

Your Mission

True Anomaly is building the next generation of spacecraft and space domain awareness technology to address the most complex national security challenges in orbit. As we scale our programs and expand our government partnerships, we're looking for a Director of Government Security to lead and own our industrial security program from the ground up.

This is a hands-on, player-coach role for someone who thrives in a fast-moving startup environment — someone equally comfortable setting enterprise-level security strategy and rolling up their sleeves to execute.

This role can be based in Denver, CO and requires full-time, onsite presence.

What You'll Do

Industrial Security & Compliance

  • Own and manage True Anomaly's industrial security program in full compliance with NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117), SEAD 3, Continuous Vetting (CV) requirements, and all government and contractual obligations (DD254, SPP, contract terms, etc.)
  • Serve as the primary liaison to DCSA and other federal law enforcement and government security counterparts
  • Coordinate and execute self-inspection programs including DCSA-required inspections — documenting findings, driving corrective actions, and managing required notifications
  • Review and refine corporate security policy to ensure practical, consistent procedures protect both classified and sensitive unclassified information and operations

Multi-Site Program Oversight

  • Lead security operations across multiple True Anomaly facilities, establishing consistent standards while adapting to the specific program and facility requirements at each location
  • Manage contractual security requirements across the full program lifecycle — from contract award through closeout — across concurrent programs
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with applicable security requirements; support supply chain and vendor security reviews as the business scales

Personnel Security & Training

  • Manage personnel security functions including clearance processing, indoctrinations, DD254 administration, and access control
  • Implement and track DCSA mandatory training requirements across all personnel
  • Build and maintain a security education and awareness program that resonates with a technical, mission-driven workforce

Cross-Functional & Corporate Security Support

  • Collaborate across corporate security disciplines including insider threat, physical security, information assurance, personnel security, and international security
  • Support incident response and investigations as needed
  • Maintain current knowledge of evolving government security directives and assess enterprise applicability

Team Leadership

  • Hire, develop, and manage a small but growing security team — setting clear expectations, supporting professional growth, and building a high-trust, high-accountability culture
  • Establish strong working relationships with leadership, program managers, engineering, and government customers

Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required
  • 10+ years of experience in industrial security, with demonstrated FSO experience on classified government contracts
  • Deep working knowledge of NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117), DCSA processes, and related compliance frameworks
  • Experience managing security programs across multiple facilities or sites
  • Strong communicator who can operate effectively with government counterparts, senior leadership, and technical teams alike
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and building programs in a fast-paced, resource-conscious startup environment

Work Environment

  • This role is onsite in our Denver, CO office #LI-Onsite
  • Fast-paced, mission-critical environment supporting national security space operations
  • Requires coordination across distributed teams including spacecraft engineers, ground operations, and government partners
  • May require participation in on-call rotation for security incident response and mission-critical system support
  • High degree of autonomy and ownership as a trusted, cleared team member
  • Occasional travel to government sites, classified facilities, launch facilities, or partner locations may be required

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience and clearance level
  • Opportunity to drive security posture for cutting-edge space systems with national security impact
  • Professional development support including conferences, training, and security certifications
  • Collaborative culture working alongside spacecraft engineers, mission operators, and experienced security professionals

Compensation

  • Base Salary: Denver - $175,000 - $255,000
  • Equity + Benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, HRA/HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401K, Parental Leave
