This is a full time onsite position located in Carlsbad, CA.

We are currently recruiting for a Director of Information Technology to lead our IT team. As part of the Continuing Life team, the Director of IT is the key individual responsible for the overall planning and execution of all IT functions throughout the CL enterprise. This includes directing all IT operations to meet employee and resident requirements, plus the support, maintenance and security of existing applications and development of new technical solutions. This position requires both management as well as hands-on technical skills.

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the organization's IT strategy and technology roadmap.
  • Align technology initiatives with business objectives and resident care priorities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on technology investments and emerging technologies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, resident satisfaction, and employee productivity through technology.

Infrastructure & Operations

  • Oversee all enterprise technology infrastructure, including networks, servers, cloud services, storage, wireless systems, and telecommunications.
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of critical systems.
  • Lead disaster recovery, business continuity, and system resilience planning.
  • Manage technology standards across multiple communities.

Cybersecurity & Compliance

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive cybersecurity programs and policies.
  • Implement security controls to protect employee, and organizational data.
  • Oversee vulnerability management, security monitoring, incident response, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards, including HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and other privacy and security requirements.
  • Lead cybersecurity awareness and training programs.

Applications & Digital Transformation

  • Evaluate, implement, and optimize technology solutions that improve resident care and business operations.
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives and technology modernization projects.

Resident Technology Experience

  • Ensure reliable technology services for residents, including internet connectivity, television systems, telephony, and resident-facing technology solutions.
  • Partner with community leadership to enhance resident satisfaction through technology services.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain a high-performing IT team.
  • Establish performance expectations and professional development plans.
  • Foster a customer-service-oriented culture focused on responsiveness and continuous improvement.
  • Manage third-party vendors, consultants, and managed service providers.

Financial Management

  • Develop and manage annual IT operating and capital budgets for CL and all Communities.
  • Negotiate technology contracts and vendor agreements.
  • Ensure cost-effective technology investments and resource utilization.
  • Monitor technology expenditures and project financial performance.

Project Management

  • Lead enterprise technology projects from planning through implementation.
  • Establish governance processes for prioritizing and managing technology initiatives.
  • Coordinate stakeholders across communities and departments.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with organizational objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS- Computer or Information Science
  • 15+ years hands-on experience in IT, at least 10 years in a leadership role
  • Ability to work and lead staff in a team-oriented or matrix environment.
  • Extensive experience working as a liaison between technical and non-technical groups.
  • Experience within healthcare or senior living would be a plus.
  • Ability to travel to CL Communities (located within California) as required.
  • Must have a strong demonstrated passion for customer service.
