The Director, Internal Communications - U.S. Business will help develop and execute internal communications strategies that inform, engage, and connect employees across MetLife's U.S. Business. This role will partner closely with business leaders and communications colleagues to translate priorities into clear, timely, and relevant messaging across internal channels, while leading a small team responsible for day-to-day communications planning and execution. The successful candidate will be a strong writer and strategic communicator with experience supporting leadership communications, managing editorial planning, and delivering communications programs that drive understanding and engagement. This role is ideal for a collaborative, hands-on communications leader who can balance strategy and execution, develop team talent, work effectively across functions, and help ensure employees are informed and aligned during key business moments.

The expected salary range for this position is $128,800 - $171,700 . This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock-based long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute internal communications plans that support U.S. Business priorities, initiatives, and leadership objectives
- Draft and deliver clear, compelling content across internal channels, including leadership messages, employee updates, intranet stories, talking points, and presentation materials.
- Partner with business leaders and subject matter experts to simplify complex information, support executive and leadership communications, and lead a small team in delivering high-quality work with clarity and consistency.
- Manage editorial planning and channel coordination to ensure communications are timely, aligned, and effective during business milestones and periods of change.
- Use employee feedback, performance data, and evolving best practices to strengthen internal communications and improve engagement over time.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or employee engagement
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with experience creating content across channels
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team while partnering effectively with business leaders and cross-functional colleagues
- Strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience integrating and operationalizing technology in communications productions and/or processes
- Time spent in financial services or a similarly regulated sector
- Creative capabilities, including video, design, or audio production
