Job Summary:

The Director, Internal Communications leads the strategy, planning, and execution of enterprise and functional internal communications that inform, engage, and align employees across the organization. Serving as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, this role develops and delivers integrated internal communications that advance business priorities, strengthen organizational alignment, and foster a connected employee experience. Through a thoughtful, integrated approach to communications, this role ensures messaging is clear, timely, and consistent across channels and audiences, building understanding, alignment, and trust, while reinforcing culture, supporting change, and bringing the company's strategy to life for employees.
Essential Functions:

  • Lead the development and execution of enterprise-wide internal communications strategies, including the design and optimization of communications channel strategies, that directly support enterprise business priorities, drive strategic alignment and execution, and enhance employee engagement and organizational cohesion.
  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to executives and senior leaders, shaping messaging, tone, and timing while partnering across internal communications and with cross-functional teams to deliver clear, aligned, and integrated communications strategies and materials.
  • Shape communications for organizational change and transformation, providing leaders with toolkits, talking points, and FAQs that support transparent, consistent communication and employee understanding.
  • Oversee all functional and market-specific communications, ensuring consistency, timeliness, alignment with brand and compliance standards, and a strong focus on transparency, culture, and employee engagement.
  • Translate complex business, legal, and operational information into clear, concise, and compelling messaging for leaders and employees.
  • Direct the development of communication deliverables, including key messaging, leadership materials, presentations, and campaign content to support major initiatives, organizational announcements, and compliance-driven communications.
  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships to ensure alignment and amplification of enterprise messaging.
  • Provide strategic consultation and guidance to internal stakeholders, building strong relationships and increasing visibility of internal communications and employee experience initiatives.
  • Assist with crisis and sensitive communications, ensuring proactive, coordinated messaging that protects the organization’s brand and keeps employees informed.
  • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of communications strategies and channels, using insights to continuously improve performance and impact.
  • Continuously assess and refine internal communications approaches, recommending enhancements to better support evolving business needs, regulatory requirements, and employee expectations.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as requested.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or relevant field required
  • Equivalent years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of required education
  • Eight (8) years corporate or internal communications experience required
  • Five (5) years leadership experience required
  • Experience in communication strategy development, implementation, and management of multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment required
  • Poppulo experience preferred

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Proven ability to effectively collaborate and interact with all organizational levels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a high level of professionalism
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic communication planning principles, methodologies, and execution to support enterprise priorities
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Ability to innovate and adapt communication strategies to meet evolving organizational needs
  • Strong project and time management skills and strong customer service orientation
  • Excellent attention to detail, listening, planning, organization, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive or proprietary information and act in the company’s best interest

Licensure and Certification:

  • None

Working Conditions:

  • General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to travel as required by the needs of the business.

Compensation Range:

$113,000.00 - $197,700.00

CareSource takes into consideration a combination of a candidate’s education, training, and experience as well as the position’s scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required for the role, and other external and internal data when establishing a salary level. In addition to base compensation, you may qualify for a bonus tied to company and individual performance. We are highly invested in every employee’s total well-being and offer a substantial and comprehensive total rewards package.
