As Director, Internal & Executive Communications, you will be the strategic communications leader helping our CEO, President, Chief People Officer, and senior executives guide employees through Guidewire’s ongoing transformation and growth. You will shape how our strategy, priorities, and culture come to life across the company, connecting employees’ day-to-day work to our mission of transforming how the world’s P&C insurers do business. You’ll combine advisory expertise, creative storytelling, and production excellence to build clarity, trust, and momentum across a global workforce.

Job Description

What you’ll do
  • Serve as a trusted communications advisor to senior leaders, including the CEO, President, and Chief People Officer, shaping narratives that advance company strategy, organizational transformation, and Global People priorities around employee experience, capability-building, and AI fluency.

  • Develop and execute integrated internal communications strategies that support change programs, culture initiatives, and operating rhythms—ensuring employees understand where we are going, why it matters, and how they contribute.

  • Own communication of Guidewire’s enterprise and People strategy, including quarterly updates, VPMOM-aligned progress readouts, and storytelling that connects major initiatives (onboarding redesign, AI/automation, skills and career architecture) to employees’ everyday work.

  • Lead executive communications for the CEO, President, and Chief People Officer, including all-employee messages, town hall content, talking points, scripts, presentations, and high-stakes internal announcements.

  • Elevate executive forums and platforms—including the VPMOM cascade and the CEO Speaker Series—by driving topic and guest sourcing, rigorous preparation and coaching, production, and multi-channel amplification so they become flagship, high-impact employee experiences.

  • Translate complex business, technology, and product topics (including cloud, AI, and data platform innovation) into accessible, engaging content across formats such as intranet features, email, Slack, video, and live events, helping employees see their role in transforming how P&C insurers do business.

  • Partner with Global People, BizTech, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams to transform employee communications for clarity and engagement, using data, feedback, and experimentation to continuously improve how we inform and inspire our global teams.

  • At Guidewire, we foster a culture of curiosity, innovation, and responsible use of AI—empowering our teams to continuously leverage emerging technologies and data-driven insights to enhance productivity and outcomes.

What you’ll bringRequired

Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your current role as well as data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.

  • 15+ years of experience in the communications space, with at least 6+ years of recent, hands-on experience in executive communications and advisory work with C-level leaders.

  • Proven track record as a strategic internal and executive communications leader, known for connecting communication to business outcomes and navigating ambiguity with clarity.

  • Demonstrated excellence in preparing and coaching executives for high-visibility moments (all-hands, major organizational updates, key internal events), including message simplification, story structure, and delivery coaching.

  • Advanced strategic planning skills with the ability to operate several steps ahead, anticipating communication risks, stakeholder dynamics, and downstream impacts across a global organization.

  • Exceptional organizational discipline and operational rigor, with experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder communication programs and calendars under tight timelines.

  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills across channels (email, intranet, scripts, presentations, Slack, video) with impeccable editorial judgment and attention to detail.

  • Confidence and executive presence to provide direct, constructive feedback to senior leaders while building trusted, long-term advisory relationships.

  • Experience producing polished, executive-ready scripts, presentations, and multimedia content, preferably in a technology or transformation-focused environment.

Preferred
  • Experience leading internal and executive communications in a global technology, SaaS, or transformation-focused company, ideally supporting People, Product, or Go-To-Market leadership.

  • Background managing executive forums and series (for example, CEO speaker series, fireside chats, leadership summits) including external talent sourcing, briefing, and end-to-end production.

  • Familiarity with AI-enabled and digital communication tools (video platforms, intranet CMS, analytics and engagement tooling) and comfort experimenting with new formats and technologies.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred or equivalent practical experience.

Your Impact

We believe in clarity and setting you up for success. In this role, you’ll start by immersing yourself in Guidewire’s strategy, Global People VPMOM, and current communication rhythms, building trusted relationships with the CEO, President, Chief People Officer, and key cross-functional partners. Within your first six months, you will establish a cohesive executive communications architecture, refine and scale the CEO Speaker Series, and launch VPMOM-aligned internal campaigns that clarify priorities such as AI fluency, onboarding transformation, and career path transparency. You’ll measure success through engagement metrics, feedback loops, and the degree to which employees report clarity, connection, and confidence in Guidewire’s direction. Over time, your work will shape how teams across the globe understand their role in transforming the way the world’s P&C insurers do business, reinforcing Guidewire’s culture of determination, collaboration, continuous improvement, and bravery.
