Company Background

Censys’ mission is to be the one place to understand everything on the internet. Frustrated by the lack of trustworthy Internet intelligence, we set out to create the industry’s most comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date map of the Internet. Today, Censys delivers real-time Internet intelligence and actionable threat insights to global governments, over 50% of the Fortune 500, and leading threat intelligence providers worldwide.

As Director of IT & Business Enablement, you'll own the systems, tools, and technology experience that power every team at Censys. Your mandate: make our internal tools fast, reliable, and easy to use — and make sure we're getting maximum leverage out of AI across everything we run. You understand that availability and usability are often in tension, and you know how to balance both without slowing the business down.

You'll own the full lifecycle of our internal technology stack — from endpoint provisioning and SaaS tooling to the adoption, integration, and optimization of AI across our systems. You're the person every employee turns to for equipment and tooling needs, and the person finance turns to for software utilization and budget decisions. You're energized by automating the boring stuff and building systems that act as force multipliers for the company.

Responsibilities
  • Own, build, and scale the team and systems supporting Censys's IT infrastructure
  • Own company technology needs end-to-end: new hire equipment, IT onboarding, and the tools that keep employees productive
  • Hire, mentor, and develop members of the IT team to support evolving needs of our global workforce
  • Own the complete endpoint lifecycle: provisioning, application deployment and endpoint patching, and asset retirement
  • Manage and administer identity systems that enable access to corporate systems and infrastructure
  • Enable secure AI adoption across the company: identify where AI can improve internal tools and workflows, lead integration of AI capabilities into our systems, and continuously optimize existing AI tooling for effectiveness and ROI
  • Evaluate, select, and manage the internal tooling and software stack, ensuring the right tools are in place and being used effectively
  • Own software and hardware budget planning and vendor management in partnership with finance
  • Build and maintain documentation for IT processes, systems, and support workflows
  • Develop and deliver internal training on tools and systems to drive adoption
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills/Experience you’ll have:

  • 10+ years of experience in IT management, systems administration, or technology operations, including 5+ years leading a team
  • Proven experience owning endpoint lifecycle management (provisioning, deployment, retirement) at scale, ideally for a fully or hybrid-remote workforce
  • Hands-on experience managing a modern SaaS tooling stack (identity/access management, MDM, collaboration tools, etc.) and making build-vs-buy / consolidate-vs-expand decisions
  • Demonstrated experience integrating AI tools into business workflows (not just using AI tools personally, but leading adoption across a team or company –e.g., rolling out AI-powered support tools, automating workflows with AI, evaluating AI vendor tooling)
  • Experience managing software/hardware budgets and vendor relationships, with the ability to translate technical decisions into cost and ROI terms for finance and leadership
  • Strong track record of building documentation, processes, and support systems from scratch
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills, and comfortable being the technical translator between engineering, finance, and non-technical employees
