Director, Machine Learning

We are building the world’s best cloud for generative AI. We are looking for an experienced engineering leader for our ML engineering and operations teams. These teams are responsible for working with our researchers to turn their latest innovations into customer-facing services and operate them in production. The ideal candidate will be able to hit the ground running in setting technical direction and making technical contributions while also scaling the team to a layered organization.

• Understanding of state of the art in LLM architecture, use cases, and ecosystem
• 5+ years of experience in building and operating scaled ML infrastructure
• Ability to scale from hands-on contribution to leading a multi-level organization
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Preferred: Prior experience with Kubernetes, open source inference engines (VLLM, SGLang, etc)

• Collaborate with Research, Product, and GTM teams to turn ideas into customer-facing services
• Mentor engineers and build a high-performing organization
• Collaborate with SRE and Infrastructure teams to ensure smooth operation of ML API services

We offer competitive compensation, startup equity, health insurance and other competitive benefits. The US base salary range for this full-time position is: $260k-330k + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by location, level and role. Individual compensation will be determined by experience, skills, and job-related knowledge.
