Own and drive Figma's monetization strategy across pricing, packaging, AI credit/consumption models, and business model evolution. Lead a small team, partner cross-functionally with Product, Finance, Engineering, and GTM to translate strategy into product and commercial outcomes, define monetization for emerging areas (AI, consumption, APIs, acquisitions), and influence long-term company planning and investment decisions.

Figma is growing our team of passionate creatives and builders on a mission to make design accessible to all. Figma’s platform helps teams bring ideas to life—whether you're brainstorming, creating a prototype, translating designs into code, or iterating with AI. From idea to product, Figma empowers teams to streamline workflows, move faster, and work together in real time from anywhere in the world. If you're excited to shape the future of design and collaboration, join us!

Some of the most consequential problems at Figma don't belong to any one team: how our business model evolves as software shifts to AI and consumption, how we price and package what we're still inventing, where the next layer of growth comes from. We're looking for an exceptional operator to own problems like these and drive them to decisions that reach the CEO, CPO, and CFO - and beyond.
As the first Director  hire on our Business Operations team, you'll start with the highest-stakes arena we have today — Figma's business model and monetization strategy (pricing, packaging, our AI credit and consumption models, and the shape of the model itself) — and build and lead the small, high-leverage team that owns it. But the through-line of this role isn't a domain; it's you: a broad, first-principles operator who brings structure to ambiguity, earns exec trust fast, and turns strategy into shipped outcomes.
This is a full-time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.

What you'll do at Figma:
  • Take Figma's most ambiguous, highest-stakes business questions from "no one knows" to a decision we can act on — and own the outcome
  • Set the direction for how Figma monetizes the AI era: agents, consumption/usage-based billing, our APIs, and acquired businesses — with a real point of view on where the model is going, not just where it is
  • Build and lead a small, exceptional team; set the bar for structured thinking and exec-ready synthesis
  • Be the partner Product, Finance, Engineering, and GTM want in the room when the problem is hard
  • Bring a sharp, independent voice into company planning and our biggest capital-allocation calls
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
  • You’re always the one handed the hardest, vaguest, most important problems
  • Pair a top-tier strategy foundation (management consulting, private equity, or investing) with operating experience at a high-growth software company (Product, Growth, Strategy & Ops, or BizOps) or a top-tier PE/VC firm
  • Have a track record of taking ambiguous, company-defining problems from zero structure to executive decision
  • Communicate with exec-level clarity and influence senior leaders without authority
  • Reason fluently about a P&L and a business model — strong business and financial instincts
  • Lead and develop people
While it's not required, it's an added plus if you also have:
  • Exposure to monetization, pricing & packaging, or business-model design — especially in the AI/consumption era
  • Hands-on financial modeling / SQL

At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. We believe in hiring smart, curious people who are excited to learn and develop their skills. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the points outlined in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
