Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing Services to lead our nursing team and ensure the delivery of exceptional resident care across our long-term care, assisted living, and home health settings. This pivotal role combines clinical expertise with strong leadership to foster a compassionate, compliant, and efficient environment. The ideal candidate will oversee nursing operations, manage regulatory adherence, and promote a culture of continuous improvement, all while ensuring residents' rights and individualized care plans are prioritized. Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction and oversight for all nursing departments, including assisted living, long-term care, home health, hospice, memory care, and acute care units.
- Lead and supervise nursing management teams to ensure high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and adherence to long-term care regulations.
- Develop, review, and update care plans tailored to each resident’s needs while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other privacy standards.
- Oversee the management of medical records, documentation review, and accurate coding using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems.
- Ensure staff are trained on medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and regulatory requirements such as Medicare standards.
- Monitor shift management to optimize staffing levels for safe patient care delivery across all shifts.
- Promote a culture of resident’s rights by advocating for dignity, autonomy, and personalized care in accordance with regulations.
- Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations related to long-term care facilities and home health agencies.
- Facilitate ongoing staff education on medical records management, documentation review, regulatory updates, and best practices in nursing leadership.
- Manage interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care plans that improve patient outcomes while fostering teamwork and communication.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or long-term care environments with demonstrated leadership in nurse management or nursing administration.
- Extensive knowledge of long-term care regulations, Medicare requirements, HIPAA compliance, and regulatory standards governing healthcare facilities.
- Strong background in managing clinical teams within home health or hospice settings is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation review and medical records management.
- Exceptional supervisory skills with experience overseeing nursing staff shifts and managing large teams effectively.
- In-depth understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, memory care principles, and patient care best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to develop comprehensive care plans aligned with residents’ individual needs while ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication skills combined with a proactive leadership style that inspires staff engagement and continuous improvement.
