Lead product design for LeanData, transforming revenue team experiences, setting design vision, building a team, and driving cross-functional impact.
The summary above was generated by AI

LeanData helps the world’s fastest-growing companies automate, simplify, and accelerate revenue.

Revenue operations is broken. Every B2B company runs on a tangled web of systems, workflows, and business logic that’s typically stitched together with duct tape and tribal knowledge. The tools that exist are either too rigid, too complex, or too disconnected to keep up with how modern go-to-market teams actually work.

LeanData exists to fix this. We're the Intelligent GTM Orchestration Platform trusted by companies like Anthropic, NVIDIA, Zoom, Snowflake, Okta, and DocuSign to route, match, and orchestrate every revenue signal across their go-to-market motions. Our existing products - Orchestration, Scheduling, and Buying Groups & Journeys are mission-critical for the RevOps teams that depend on them. And beyond that, we have a lot of product ideas cooking for the next set of directions we want to drive customer value and company growth.

But here's the thing: mission-critical doesn't have to mean painful to use. And that's exactly where you come in.

We're looking for a Director of Product Design to lead LeanData's design function and transform how revenue teams experience our platform and innovate on how we can provide more value and better experiences. You'll own the design vision, raise the craft bar, and lead a team that turns complex orchestration workflows into experiences that feel intuitive, powerful, and genuinely easier and inspiring than what came before.

This isn't a role where design is an afterthought. You'll report directly to the Chief Product Officer and sit at the table where product strategy is made. You'll have the mandate - and the accountability - to make design a strategic differentiator for LeanData in the age of AI.

This is hybrid role with two days in the office (Monday and Wednesday)

What You'll Do

Set the Vision

  • Define and drive LeanData's product design vision across Orchestration, Scheduling, Buying Groups, and our emerging AI capabilities and new products

  • Translate complex enterprise workflows into simple, coherent, and elegant user experiences within LeanData that scale with enterprise customer complexity

  • Design AI-native orchestration experiences that shift users from manual configuration to intelligent, adaptive automation

  • Identify opportunities where design innovation creates measurable competitive advantage

Raise the Craft

  • Set and hold a high quality bar for interaction design, visual design, and systems thinking across every product surface

  • Build and evolve LeanData's design system - establishing scalable patterns that unify the product experience across our suite

  • Champion AI-native design patterns that simplify configuration, surface insights proactively, and reduce the cognitive load of orchestration

  • Leverage data and insights around product utilization, drop-off, and engagement to make strategic calls on user experience investments and changes

Build the Team

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of product designers, fostering a culture of craft, curiosity, and customer experience obsession

  • Help designers do the best work of their careers through strong critique, clear career development, and an environment where creative risk-taking is rewarded

  • Partner with the CPO on design hiring strategy and org design as LeanData scales

Drive Cross-Functional Impact

  • Partner deeply with Product Management and Engineering as part of product triads - influencing strategy, not just executing on specs

  • Embed user research, usability testing, and data-informed design practices into the product development lifecycle

  • Represent design in executive and cross-functional forums, ensuring the voice of the customer shapes roadmap decisions

  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to translate customer pain points into design priorities

Design for the Platform

  • Navigate the unique opportunities and constraints of Salesforce-native architecture and cloud architecture, designing experiences that leverage the platform without being limited by it

  • Design for multiple personas - from hands-on RevOps admins building complex routing logic, to sales leaders monitoring funnel health, to sales reps prioritizing how they work their territories, to executives making strategic GTM decisions

  • Think end-to-end across the customer journey: onboarding, day-to-day usage, expansion, and support

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of product design experience, with significant depth in B2B SaaS, enterprise software, or workflow/operations tools

  • 5+ years leading and growing design teams, including experience managing senior and junior designers and developing design talent

  • A portfolio that demonstrates mastery of simplifying complex, multi-step workflows into intuitive experiences - we want to see systems thinking, not just polished screens

  • Strong strategic instincts paired with deep craft: you can set a 2-year design vision and redline an interaction pattern in the same week

  • Experience partnering as equals with Product and Engineering leadership, not just receiving briefs

  • Comfort with user research methodologies - JTBD, usability testing, journey mapping - and the ability to connect research insights to design decisions

  • Knowledge on how to maximize design technology using platforms like Figma, Pendo, UserTesting, Claude, and others to the advantage of design quality and speed of execution

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills: you can articulate design rationale to engineers, executives, and customers with equal clarity

  • Proficiency in modern design tools and an eagerness to leverage AI-powered design and prototyping tools in your team's workflow

  • A genuine curiosity about B2B go-to-market operations. You don't need to be a RevOps expert on day one, but you need to be energized by learning the domain deeply

What Will Set You Apart

  • You've shipped products in domains where the UI is the product (workflow builders, visual editors, complex configuration tools, active or autonomous AI Assistants) - not just content consumption apps

  • Experience designing for Salesforce ecosystem products or other CRM applications

  • Background in revenue operations, marketing automation, or sales engagement tooling

  • Familiarity with agentic AI patterns, LLM-powered UX, or intelligent automation workflows

  • A track record of establishing or maturing a design systems practice from early stage to scale

Why this role

  • Design has a seat at the table. You'll report to the CPO and be a core voice in product strategy. This isn't a service org - it's a leadership role.

  • The problem space is rich. Revenue orchestration sits at the intersection of data, workflow, AI, and human decision-making. It's the kind of complexity that world-class designers crave.

  • The timing is right. LeanData is at a strategic inflection point - investing in AI, expanding our product suite, and raising the bar on craft. You'll shape what comes next, not inherit someone else's playbook.

  • The team is exceptional. You'll work alongside experienced product and engineering leaders who respect design and want it to thrive.

  • Bay Area roots, global impact. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, you'll work with customers that include some of the world's most sophisticated B2B companies.

Why work at LeanData:

  • LeanData covers employee insurance premiums up to 90%

  • Stock options in LeanData for all full-time employees

  • Flexible PTO

  • 401K plan
