Joining Cayuse means becoming part of a company that is transforming how research is managed globally. This is a unique opportunity to lead the products that manage billions of dollars in research funding, from proposal through award, agreement, and closeout.

Reporting into our SVP of Product Management, we’re looking for an experienced product leader to own and grow our Award Management suite, the portfolio that helps research institutions plan, fund, and manage sponsored projects. This is a player-coach role. You’ll build and lead a team of product managers, set the multi-year strategy across a multi-platform portfolio, and represent Award Management to the executive team and the market. You’ll work cross functionally across engineering, sales, marketing, customer success, and support, serving as the connective tissue between internal teams and the institutions we serve.

Success in this role means a coherent, well sequenced product strategy for Award Management, a product management team that is growing and delivering, and a roadmap that balances customer needs, platform investments, and business objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Own the product vision and multi-year roadmap for the Award Management suite, aligned to company strategy and growth goals.
  • Build, lead, and develop a team of product managers, setting goals, coaching performance, and growing talent within the function.
  • Define and execute a multi-platform strategy across the Award Management portfolio, sequencing investment across products that serve different stages of the sponsored project lifecycle.
  • Partner with engineering leadership to plan platform migrations, consolidations, and modernization work, balancing near-term delivery with long-term platform health.
  • Represent the Award Management strategy and roadmap to the executive team and other stakeholders, and contribute to company-level product and portfolio planning.
  • Partner with sales, marketing, and customer success on packaging, pricing, and go-to-market readiness for the portfolio.
  • Lead customer and market discovery across research institutions to validate strategic bets and surface unmet needs.
  • Champion Agile practices across the product management team and holds the group accountable to consistent, high-quality execution.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer within Cayuse, ensuring product decisions reflect the needs of research administrators and institutional leaders.

Qualifications
  • 8+ years of B2B product management experience, including experience leading and managing a team of product managers.
  • Proven experience defining and executing product strategy across a multi-platform or multi-product portfolio at a B2B SaaS company.
  • Skilled at working within Agile environments across distributed teams.
  • Experience with platform migrations, product consolidations, or modernization efforts, and an understanding of the customer, commercial, and technical dynamics involved.
  • Strong track record of setting roadmap priorities based on customer needs, business impact, and technical feasibility.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, making decisions with incomplete information, and driving alignment across teams you don’t directly control.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills. You can lead a customer conversation or an executive roadmap review with equal confidence.
  • Experience in research administration, higher education, or grants and award management software.
  • Familiarity with the sponsored project lifecycle: proposals, awards, agreements, and financial compliance.
  • Experience at a PE-backed company with ARR-oriented reporting expectations.
  • Working fluency with AI tools to accelerate discovery synthesis, roadmap planning, and competitive analysis.

  • Competitive Medical Benefits (PPO + HSA available)
  • Vision, Dental, Short-Term Disability fully covered by Cayuse
  • Unlimited PTO + Holidays + Flexible Work Schedule
  • Remote Work Stipend
