Partner with the CEO to define product vision and execute the roadmap. Lead the product team, align cross-functional partners, drive product-led growth, scope and ship features with engineering, define success metrics, and represent the product externally.

Builder.io is the collaboration layer on top of AI coding agents, putting them in the hands of your full team, not just developers. Product managers, designers, and engineers work together in real time on the same codebase, turning ideas into production-ready code in hours instead of weeks.

At its core, Builder.io restructures how teams work. Rather than making developers 20% faster at coding, Builder.io puts an AI software engineer in the hands of product managers, designers, and marketers, enabling them to go directly from idea to production. The platform operates inside existing enterprise codebases, design systems, and workflows, so output is real, reviewable, and ready to ship while engineering maintains control through standard approval processes.

This collaborative model is gaining traction with enterprises running mission-critical digital environments. Builder.io is deployed in production at scale by companies including Apple, Amazon, and Walmart, not as an experiment, but as a replacement for manual handoff-driven development and legacy workflows.

The company is Series B, backed by Greylock and M12, and has doubled revenue in the past year. Builder.io is positioned to lead the next shift in how software gets built.

Role Summary:

Reporting directly to co-founder and CEO Steve Sewell, the Product Lead will serve as his primary partner in shaping the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and execution for Builder.io. This is a defining hire for the company. The right person will work shoulder-to-shoulder with the CEO to translate a fast-moving market opportunity into a clear, opinionated product direction, and then drive that direction into reality across a growing team.

The Product Lead will drive the product function day to day: roadmap execution, cross-functional alignment, product-led growth motions, and the rhythm of shipping. They will bring structure and rigor to an already strong foundation, helping the company move faster with greater clarity as it scales. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role in a company where the product is the strategy, and the product leader has a direct line to every decision that matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the CEO to define and evolve the product vision and strategy in a fast-moving AI and developer tools landscape.
  • Drive the product roadmap in close partnership with the CEO, balancing near-term customer needs, platform bets, and long-term differentiation. Own the day-to-day execution, keeping the roadmap sharp, current, and moving.
  • Lead the product team, setting a high bar for clarity, speed, and quality of execution.
  • Drive product-led growth by identifying and optimizing the levers that convert signups into active, expanding enterprise accounts.
  • Translate deep customer insight, competitive intelligence, and technical understanding into sharp product priorities.
  • Work closely with Engineering to scope, sequence, and ship features with velocity while maintaining platform quality and stability.
  • Partner with Design to ensure the product experience reinforces Builder.io's position as the most intuitive path from idea to production.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Customer Experience to understand enterprise buyer needs, inform packaging and positioning, and close the loop between customer feedback and product decisions.
  • Define product success metrics, instrument the product to track them, and use data to guide prioritization and iteration.
  • Represent the product externally as needed, including with customers, prospects, and at industry events.

Professional Qualifications:

Not all of the following are required. We care more about trajectory and raw ability than checking every box.

  • Proven track record leading product for a developer tools, infrastructure, or platform company through a period of rapid growth.
  • Deep product instincts in technical and AI-driven product categories, with the ability to engage credibly with engineers, designers, and enterprise buyers.
  • Experience building and scaling a product function from early-stage or growth-stage through significant revenue milestones.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with a technical founder or CEO, bringing complementary strengths in prioritization, process, and cross-functional leadership.
  • Strong command of product-led growth mechanics, including activation, engagement, expansion, and retention in enterprise SaaS.
  • Comfortable operating across the full product lifecycle, from early discovery and prototyping through launch, iteration, and scaling.
  • Experience with enterprise go-to-market motions, including land-and-expand, multi-stakeholder buying decisions, and sales-assisted product adoption.
  • Track record of shipping at high velocity without sacrificing quality or strategic coherence.
  • Experience hiring, developing, and leading high-performing product teams.

About Builder.io:

Builder.io is pioneering the space between design and development, creating a new category of Visual Development Platform that transforms how teams build digital products.

Our Visual Copilot technology bridges the gap between Figma designs and production code, enabling teams to build interactive features using natural language while working with their actual code, data, and APIs. Alongside our code generation capabilities, our CMS empowers organizations to skip code generation altogether and publish updates to any live site or app in a couple clicks.

Trusted by leading mid-market to enterprise-level companies like JCrew, Vimeo, and Anheuser Busch, we're focused on eliminating the traditional bottlenecks between design, development, and content management.

Builder.io is committed to growing an inclusive and diverse team. We are an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, veteran, genetic information, marital status or any other legally protected status.
