Envision Horizons is a global marketplace growth agency specializing in Amazon, Walmart, and other major retail media networks. Our team helps brands build awareness, capture market share, and drive profitability through data-driven strategy and execution.

We believe high-performing teams are built on trust, curiosity, and the power of collective expertise. As a leading force in global eCommerce acceleration, our diverse, tech-driven professionals don’t just react to the industry; they shape it. By fusing ambitious thinking with compassion, we deliver exceptional client outcomes while making space for every individual to create, grow, and genuinely thrive. Each team member influences our evolution, enjoying flexibility and support unmatched by larger organizations. Here, your impact is real, your ideas matter, and your career trajectory is limitless.

Role Overview

The Director of Programmatic Media is the internal authority on how Envision Horizons runs DSP and programmatic across retail media. This is a subject-matter-expert and enablement role, not an account role. You define our programmatic methodology, build the standards the DSP team works to, train the function, and keep EH ahead of platform change across both onsite and offsite display, video and CTV, and audience strategy built on retailer first-party data. You do not manage a book of clients or own account P&L. Your success is measured by the strength and repeatability of our programmatic capability, adoption of the medium across our client base, adoption of MyHorizons, and growth in managed ad spend.

How You’ll Make An Impact

Best Practice & Capability

  • Define EH’s best-practice methodology for programmatic: audience strategy, line-item structure, supply strategy, bidding and pacing, creative rotation, frequency management, and incrementality measurement across Amazon DSP, The Trade Desk, and retailer-specific programmatic offerings, spanning both onsite and offsite display.

  • Build the audience and measurement frameworks that use retailer first-party data, and codify methodology into playbooks, SOPs, QA standards, and MyHorizons so programmatic scales across accounts without proportional headcount.

  • Set benchmarks and diagnostics for programmatic health (new-to-brand, reach and frequency, view-through and incrementality, full-funnel attribution) and define how teams interpret them.

  • Serve as senior technical escalation for complex DSP problems, advising the strategist rather than taking the keys.

MyHorizons Platform & Automation

  • Act as the programmatic function’s product partner to MyHorizons: identify, scope, and test new platform features for DSP and programmatic, and support their rollout and adoption. Serve as the voice of the DSP function into the MyHorizons roadmap.

  • Increase use of MyHorizons across all EH team members, not only the DSP team, so the platform becomes the default way the agency runs and manages programmatic.

  • Drive adoption of campaign automation within MyHorizons across the programmatic function.

Internal Training & Enablement

  • Run a regular internal training program for the DSP function: structured onboarding, recurring workshops, a defined skill ladder from junior trader to senior strategist, and refresher sessions as platforms change.

  • Maintain a steady cadence of internal trainings that keep the whole strategist team current. This is a core part of the role, not an occasional add-on.

Partnerships, Betas & Clean Rooms

  • Work directly with retailer and DSP stakeholders (Amazon, The Trade Desk, and retail media networks) to secure early access to beta features and programs for the agency, and convert that access into an edge for our teams.

  • Develop clean-room expertise such as Amazon Marketing Cloud and retailer clean rooms for audience building, measurement, and incrementality.

  • Identify, evaluate, and vet third-party vendor and technology partners (DSPs, measurement and verification vendors, data and clean-room providers, supply partners), and recommend which EH adopts, including commercial and technical due diligence.

  • Assess emerging programmatic channels (CTV, audio, retail media offsite networks) and decide what EH adopts and recommends.

Adoption & Managed Spend Growth

  • Drive adoption of programmatic across our client base and grow the managed ad spend EH runs in this medium agency-wide, through stronger methodology, new channels and betas, training, and wider client uptake of best practice.

Scope & Accountability
  • This is an internal expert and enablement role. No account ownership, no client P&L, no relationship management. The Director is available as an internal expert for escalations and pitches on request.

  • No book of clients and no P&L responsibility.

Key Performance Indicators

This role is held to KPIs that include:

  • Growth in managed ad spend in programmatic across the entire agency.

  • Adoption of programmatic across EH’s client base.

  • Adoption of MyHorizons across EH team members.

  • Adoption of campaign automation within MyHorizons.

What Sets You Apart
  • Deep, hands-on programmatic expertise with demonstrated mastery of at least Amazon DSP and The Trade Desk, plus a working understanding of the broader ad-tech ecosystem.

  • Experience building programmatic measurement, especially audience strategy and incrementality, using retailer or first-party data.

  • A history of building methodology and standards, not only running campaigns.

  • Direct experience running internal training and upskilling programs.

  • Experience working with a campaign management or automation platform, ideally including a role in scoping or testing new features and driving their adoption.

  • Experience vetting and selecting third-party vendors or ad-tech partners.

  • Working knowledge of clean rooms such as Amazon Marketing Cloud, with the ability to build that expertise further.

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with retailer and DSP stakeholders to access beta programs.

  • Comfort working across distributed, offshore teams.

Benefits
  • Competitive base salary and commission, so your results and ambition are truly rewarded.

  • Fully remote culture, with collaborative hubs in New York, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Salt Lake City, and Seattle; join us from anywhere, but connect where opportunity grows.

  • Comprehensive health, vision, and dental insurance with a minimum company contribution, 401(k) match to plan for your future, and flexible PTO and wellness days to support both your personal and professional well-being.

  • Career growth support, ongoing learning opportunities, 1:1 leadership coaching program, and structured mentorship opportunities.

  • Engaging virtual team events and activities throughout the year.

  • Partnership with Talkspace for free mental health support.
