The Director of Revenue Cycle is responsible for overseeing and managing the revenue cycle process for all clients including meeting charge capture and revenue performance goals. This role ensures that the company maximizes reimbursement across the revenue cycle for all PBS clients, maintains accurate, effective, and compliant billing processes, analyzes metrics and performance, and takes action to achieve outcomes. The Director of Revenue Cycle will lead and support the Account Resolution Managers and their staff to ensure operational excellence and financial performance of clients. Works across all areas of the management including Client Service Executives, Clients, and Operations teams to analyze client revenue cycle performance and outline opportunities to improve based on business intelligence reporting. The role will include analyzing and assessing the health of client AR across multiple payors and states. Oversees operational initiatives and revenue outcomes, identifying and implementing new workflows with operational team as needed based on performance. Uses dashboards and reporting to manage client metrics including charges, AR, and revenue. Acts in working with internal and external teams toward resolution and applying best practices.


Key Primary Responsibilities:


  • Proactively maintains and improves upon service performance levels and works across the organization to resolve issues, escalate revenue recovery efforts, provide timely feedback to internal team and clients, raise customer satisfaction levels, and ensure that service gaps and lessons learned are incorporated into workflows.
  • Partners with multiple levels of management and departments to develop and implement strategies to maximize the efficiency of the billing process including charge workflows, claims accuracy, and incoming revenue.
  • Manage and mentor the Account Resolution Managers and other revenue cycle staff, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
  • Proactively identifies issues and recommends solutions for client and/or operational improvement.
  • Participates in projects to reduce costs and increase performance, including outsourcing initiatives.

Competencies

  1. Analytical review and monitoring of Business Intelligence data in reports and dashboards to review outcomes and make decisions around staffing and workflows.
  2. Understands the full revenue cycle with ability to plan workflows and pivot work efforts/processes as required.
  3. Motivator with demonstrated team building skills.

Supervisory Responsibility

Supervises on-site and remote staff.

No routine travel is expected for this position.

Qualifications

Required Education

  1. Bachelors’ degree or equivalent experience in a leadership position.
  2. 5 + years of health care revenue cycle management experience.
  3. 3+ years of experience managing teams/labor.
  4. Experience in Microsoft Office including Microsoft Excel.
