Job Description

Director of Sales

SUMMARY:

Responsible for generating top-line revenue to meet or exceed budget expectations. Responsible for soliciting, negotiating and creating new corporate sales accounts as well as maintaining the current corporate client portfolio. Lead the Sales team which is additionally comprised of the Sales and Events Manager and Sales Coordinator. Work closely with the General Manager and Corporate Sales Leader to develop an effective business/marketing plan.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.Assist with making sales environment conductive to learning. Participate in associate functions, client and guest events, and community events

2.Assist with developing and maintaining the business/marketing plan, budgets and forecasts with General Manager and Corporate Sales Leader

3. Qualify leads and prospects gained from tele-prospecting, cold calls, sales blitzes, and other lead sources

4.Properly utilize, Ivy and other brand and corporate sales tools

5. Make outside sales calls

6.Participate in joint revenue calls with General Manager and Corporate Sales Leader

7. Cultivate lead sources

8. Network with prospects to uncover other decision makers

9.Establish and maintain close contact with top and target accounts through phone calls, appointments, tours, written correspondence and entertainment. Assess future and current needs of the client

10. Monitor production of all top accounts and evaluate market trends

11. Build and maintain a rapport with competitor hotels, lead sources, clients and local community

12. Meet and greet onsite contacts

13. Develop a full working knowledge of the operations of the hotel, including Guest Services and Housekeeping

14. Assist with rate and services decisions

15. Use the L.E.A.R.N Model for all guest recovery incidents that occur (Listen, Empathize, Apologize, React, Notify)

16. Always have a friendly and welcoming demeanour when interacting with our guests

17. Have knowledge and understanding of all department policies and procedures, and communicate and enforce all policies fairly and consistently with staff

18. Attend weekly sales meetings

19. Complete weekly and monthly sales call reports and submit them to General Manager and Corporate Sales Leader

20. Maintain accurate sales files, and trace system on Top and Target accounts in Company Sales tracking system

21. Maintain Social Media presence of hotel

22. Responsible for knowing and following quality assurance standards for department

23. Responsible for the proper administration of key control for issued keys

24. Responsible for knowing hotel emergency procedures

25. Responsible for following all hotel safety guidelines and requirements

26. Carry out any reasonable request by management that I am capable of performing
