About Us

Legora is redefining how legal work gets done. Not built for lawyers, built with them. We work alongside the world’s best legal teams, who expect excellence, precision, and speed, and we hold ourselves to the same bar.
Our AI-native workspace lets legal professionals move faster, think more clearly, and operate with sharper precision. By analysing thousands of documents in minutes and powering end-to-end workflows, we cut through complexity, teams can focus on what matters: judgment, strategy, and outcomes.
2,100+ customers across 80+ countries trust us, including Cleary Gottlieb, Goodwin, Linklaters, White & Case, Dentons, and Barclays. We’ve scaled to $200M+ in ARR, with teams across Europe, North America and APAC, and continue to expand through acquisitions including Qura, Walter AI, Graceview, Cadastral, and Wexler.
We partner with world-class performers: including Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees, Ludvig Åberg (and his caddie), and campaigns featuring Jude Law.
Joining Legora means three things.

  • We lean in: ownership over titles, outcomes over intentions.

  • We fight for excellence: high standards, direct, ego-free feedback.

  • We grow together: as a team and with our customers.

Mission before ego. Everyone contributes. No one coasts.

If you’re driven by impact, pace, and raising the bar. This is the place.

The Role

We’re looking for a Director of Solutions Engineering to build and lead our global Solutions Engineering (SE) team, managing both people managers and individual contributors.

Your team’s primary responsibility is to get customers into pilot quickly and guide them through a smooth technical evaluation. You’ll own technical scoping, build relationships with technical champions, address questions from IT and security stakeholders, and drive information security reviews to completion in partnership with our internal experts.

This will be a highly hands-on role, especially at the outset. You’ll work directly on strategic opportunities while developing the managers, processes, and technical resources that enable the team to scale. You’ll partner closely with Sales and Legal Engineering, with clear ownership of technical readiness and execution throughout the pilot.

What You'll Do
  • Lead managers and individual contributors. Hire, coach, and develop a global team, 5x our current size; set clear performance expectations; and build managers who can independently lead strong technical execution.

  • Own the technical path into pilot. Establish a consistent approach to scoping requirements, identifying dependencies, and completing the technical preparation needed to launch on time.

  • Build trust with technical champions. Develop relationships with customer IT, security, and other technical stakeholders, giving them clear, accurate answers and confidence in how Legora fits their environment.

  • Drive information security clearance. Coordinate questionnaires, documentation, technical discussions, and escalations with the right internal experts to keep reviews moving.

  • Keep pilots moving smoothly. Anticipate technical blockers, establish clear owners and next steps, and coordinate resolution when issues arise.

  • Stay hands-on in strategic opportunities. Personally lead complex technical conversations and escalations, using those experiences to coach the team and improve its practices.

  • Build repeatable ways of working. Develop scoping templates, security response resources, technical documentation, pilot readiness checklists, and escalation processes.

  • Partner across the customer lifecycle. Align with Sales and Legal Engineering on pilot plans, bring recurring issues to Product and Engineering, and ensure clear technical handoffs for rollout.

What You'll Deliver
  • Faster time to pilot: technical requirements, security reviews, and dependencies are addressed early and progressed with clear ownership.

  • Reliable pilot execution: fewer avoidable technical delays, prompt resolution of blockers, and clear communication throughout.

  • Strong technical relationships: customer champions and security stakeholders trust the team’s expertise, responsiveness, and follow-through.

  • A capable, accountable organization: managers and ICs have clear expectations, effective coaching, and the resources to operate independently.

  • Scalable execution: consistent processes and reusable resources allow the team to support growing demand while maintaining quality.

What You Bring
  • Experience leading solutions engineering or sales engineering teams in a sales environment with comparable deal complexity, buyer profile, and product maturity.

  • A strong technical presales foundation: you personally led discovery, demos, solution architecture, and technical evaluations before moving into leadership.

  • A record of developing people, with examples of successful hiring, coaching, and promotions, and of addressing performance issues.

  • Commercial judgment: you understand how technical work advances a buying decision and when to challenge, redirect, or stop an evaluation.

  • Executive communication: you can explain complex technology in business terms while retaining credibility with technical audiences.

  • Experience building scalable practices: you’ve improved team processes and assets without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.

  • Cross-functional influence: you can work through competing priorities and translate customer feedback into actionable product discussions.

  • Based in New York City and able to work from our Flatiron office five days per week, with travel as needed to support customers and a global team.

Who You Are
  • You’ve led customer-facing technical teams, including both managers and individual contributors, in an enterprise software environment.

  • You bring hands-on experience in technical scoping, customer technical evaluations, and resolving the issues that can delay a pilot.

  • You’ve navigated enterprise information security reviews and can work credibly with IT and security stakeholders on architecture, data handling, access controls, and integration requirements.

  • You build strong relationships with technical champions through clear answers, sound judgment, and reliable follow-through.

  • You operate with urgency and precision. You identify dependencies early, establish ownership, and keep multiple customer evaluations moving without overlooking important requirements.

  • You know when to step into a difficult situation and when to coach your managers and team to handle it independently.

  • You’ve improved how a growing team operates through practical processes, reusable documentation, and effective cross-functional partnerships.

Nice To Have
  • A background in AI-native or legal technology companies (strongly preferred).

  • Experience with enterprise AI or with customers that have demanding security requirements.

Why This Role
  • Own a critical step in enterprise AI adoption. Your team will help customers resolve the technical and security questions that stand between interest in Legora and a live pilot.

  • Build a global function. You’ll shape how Solutions Engineering operates across regions, develop managers and ICs, and establish the standards that support our next stage of growth.

  • Work directly with sophisticated customers. Build relationships with the technical and security teams at leading law firms and in-house legal departments, helping them evaluate AI in environments where trust and precision matter.

  • See the impact of your work. Shorter paths to pilot, faster resolution of technical blockers, and smoother evaluations will provide tangible evidence of what you and your team have built.

  • Combine hands-on work with leadership at scale. You’ll be deeply involved in strategic opportunities from the start, while building the team’s capability to take on greater ownership as we grow.

What’s In It For You
  • Global collaboration: Partner with teams and clients across Europe, APAC, and North America.

  • Competitive package: Comprehensive salary, benefits, and tools for success.

  • Meaningful work: Your efforts shape how thousands of lawyers use AI daily.

  • In-person environment: Union Square office designed for ambitious builders and company provided lunch daily.

  • Benefits & Perks: We invest in our people with a comprehensive, thoughtfully designed benefits package:
    Medical, Dental & Vision

    • Multiple medical plan options through Aetna and Kaiser Permanente

    • HSA or Healthcare FSA (based on plan selection)

    • Dental plans via MetLife

    • Vision plans via Vision Care

    Family Support

    • Generous parental leave

    • Free access to Maven Clinic

    • Dependent Care FSA

    • Free One Medical membership for employees and dependents

    Additional Perks

    • Pre-tax commuter benefits

    • Life Insurance + STD/LTD

    • 401(K) with generous company match

    • Unlimited PTO

    • Robust voluntary benefits, including identity protection (via Aura), legal coverage via MetLife, pet savings programs, and more
