The Director of Solutions Engineering will lead the pre-sales team, support strategic deals, build a top-performing team, and ensure the technical success of enterprise customers utilizing AI in customer experience.
The summary above was generated by AI

ASAPP builds the AI that runs customer experience for the world’s largest enterprises: tier-1 airlines, global banks, telcos, and insurers whose contact centers handle hundreds of millions of interactions a year. Our Customer Experience Platform (CXP) puts generative AI directly into voice and digital channels at production scale, where accuracy is non-negotiable.

We’re hiring a Director of Solution Engineering to lead and scale our pre-sales function. You’ll personally own the most strategic deals while leading the team and playbooks that let us win the next ten. You’ll lead a small, senior team of Solution Engineers today (2 to 4) and scale it as the business grows. As ASAPP expands, the role grows with it.

What You'll Do

  • Support Strategic Deals Directly. Lead discovery, demos, architecture deep-dives, and POCs for our largest prospects.

  • Build the team. Hire, develop, and retain a bar-raising SE team. Set the standard for technical storytelling, discovery rigor, and demo craft.

  • Own the technical win. Partner with Sales Leadership on deal strategy. Translate CXP’s capabilities into outcomes that resonate with customer executives.

  • Engineer repeatability. Design demos, reference architectures, and POC frameworks that scale without diluting quality.

  • Close the loop with Product. Convert competitive signals, gaps, and breakthrough wedges into clear input that shapes the roadmap.

  • De-risk the handoff. Set Implementation up to deliver in weeks, not quarters.

  • Run the function. Own SE metrics, forecasting inputs and capacity planning.

What We Need

  • 10+ years in Solution / Sales Engineering, with 5+ leading SE teams.

  • A track record of winning large enterprise deals in CX, contact center, AI/ML, or enterprise SaaS.

  • Genuine technical depth: you can whiteboard a Genesys, Amazon Connect or Salesforce integration and answer LLM evaluation, security, and data-residency questions without phoning a friend.

  • Executive presence with CIOs, CTOs, Heads of CX, plus the willingness to be hands-on in a demo.

  • Builder’s instincts: you’ve designed the playbooks and stood up the process, not just inherited them.

Why This Role

You’ll sell, and sometimes architect, the most ambitious applied AI work in customer experience, into the most demanding enterprises in the world. The deals are large, the technology is real, and the team is small enough that what you build shows up in everything we do.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation with stock options
  • Comprehensive medical, vision, and dental insurance
  • 401k matching
  • Fitness and wellness stipend
  • Mobile phone reimbursement
  • Mental well-being benefits
  • Professional learning and development stipend
  • Parental leave, including adoptive and foster parents
  • 3 weeks paid time off (increases with tenure) along with sick leave
