The Opportunity
Position: Director, Sr. Relationship Manager - Agricultural Investments, Food and Agribusiness, Southeast Region Office

Reports to: Managing Director, Food and Agribusiness Region
Travel : 30% to 45%
MetLife Investment Management (MIM's) Global Real Estate and Agricultural Investments business maintains a portfolio invested in commercial real estate and agricultural mortgages, as well as real estate equities. In addition to sourcing and managing these investments, the groups are responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key industry contacts and referral sources. The mortgage portfolio and equity portfolio units are organized according to specialty, and they actively manage MIM's portfolio of mortgage loans and equity investments in agricultural, office, apartment, retail, industrial, and hotel properties. The portfolio units are responsible for overall portfolio strategy, pricing, transaction approval and credit approval on new loans, as well as the active management of the overall mortgage and equity portfolios.
MIM's Agricultural Investments group is the largest non-GSE agricultural mortgage lenders in the United States. Our agricultural investments are an important part of MetLife's asset-liability matching program. The long-term nature of these investments makes them a good match for the long-term liabilities the company writes. MIM's agricultural portfolio is approximately $24 billion.
MIM's Food and Agribusiness Group is seeking an exceptional person to work as a Director for Agribusiness Lending. This Senior Relationship Management position will be part of a national team responsible for the origination and servicing of mortgage loans in the food and agribusiness sector in the southeastern United States.
The coverage territory consists of the following states: Arkansas, Louisianna, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, & Florida.
Key Responsibilities
Required Qualifications
Business development. Relationship management.
Commercial credit analysis and decision-making. Commercial credit portfolio administration. MS Office Suite Word and Excel-based applications (create spreadsheets/formulas).
Preferred Qualifications
The expected salary range for this position is $155,000 - $190,000 . This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock-based long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.

Key Responsibilities
- Primary duties will include the following (prioritized by importance):
- Business development and asset (loan) origination.
- Relationship management with borrowers, key industry contacts, and referral sources.
- Loan structuring, pricing, and initial risk assessments.
- Collaboration with the credit analyst team for credit underwriting.
- Sponsoring loans for presentation to credit committee.
- Collaboration with the loan closing team for loan closings.
- Coordination of loan servicing/reporting in conjunction with the credit analyst team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field (Business, Finance, Accounting or Agriculture); MBA a plus.
- 10-15+ years of Commercial Real Estate or Agribusiness lending experience in the following:
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain customer and peer relationships.
- Understands value drivers across the business, including the role of AI - financially, operationally, competitively
Preferred Qualifications
- Established network of key contacts and prospects preferred.
- Moody's CreditLensTM and RiskCalcTM a plus
