Turion Space is building the autonomous infrastructure required to operate, protect, and sustain the in-space economy. From on-orbit inspection and debris removal to autonomous spacecraft operations powered by Starfire OS, Turion’s success depends on a resilient, scalable, and execution-driven supply chain.
As Director of Supply Chain, you will design, build, and lead a supply chain organization that enables Turion to deliver complex spacecraft systems on schedule, at cost, and at quality. This role is responsible for end-to-end supply chain strategy and execution spanning sourcing, supplier partnerships, material planning, logistics, systems, and production support in a fast-paced aerospace startup environment.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep technical expertise, strong executive presence, and the ability to build structure where little exists.
Key Responsibilities
Define and execute Turion’s end-to-end supply chain strategy, aligned with company growth plans and program requirements.
Build, lead, and scale a cross-functional supply chain organization supporting engineering development, manufacturing, integration, and production.
Establish supply chain as a driver of operational excellence, cost efficiency, and competitive advantage.
Serve as a senior leader with the ability to influence executive stakeholders and guide cross-company decision making.
Build and manage strategic supplier partnerships, optimizing for resilience, performance, and financial outcomes.
Drive supplier evaluation, qualification, development, and quality improvement initiatives.
Lead procurement campaigns from early BOM development through sourcing, negotiation, risk assessment, and vendor management.
Own material planning, inventory management, logistics, and production coordination to ensure on-time delivery.
Establish foundational hardware processes including Item Master setup, BOM creation, clear-to-build analysis, and data analytics.
Lead digital transformation efforts across ERP, PLM, MES, and QMS systems.
Design scalable processes that support new product introduction, first-article builds, and production ramp.
Partner deeply with Engineering, Manufacturing, Integration, Production, Additive, Finance, and Strategy teams to align priorities and execution.
Roll up sleeves when needed and lead by example in a startup environment where execution matters.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field.
12+ years of progressive supply chain experience, including senior leadership roles in aerospace or other complex hardware environments.
Proven track record transforming supply chain operations to drive measurable improvements in growth, cost, and delivery performance.
Deep expertise across procurement, supplier management, logistics, planning, inventory, and supply chain systems.
Experience collaborating closely with design engineering, manufacturing, and production teams in development and flight environments.
Strong executive presence with the ability to influence across leadership teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading supply chain efforts for new product introduction of aerospace hardware into manufacturing and production.
Demonstrated ability to operate as a self-starter in ambiguous environments, building structure and process from the ground up.
Hands-on experience with PLM, ERP, MES, and QMS implementations or transformations.
Experience scaling supply chain operations in a high-growth startup or rapid-execution environment.
Visionary mindset with the ability to reimagine how supply chain excellence enables mission success.
