The Director, Value Realization Office (VRO) is accountable for ensuring CSL’s digital and technology investments deliver measurable, sustained business value. The role establishes and governs a disciplined, enterprise-wide approach to defining, shaping, tracking, and realizing value across the I&T portfolio.

The VRO partners closely with I&T leadership, Finance, and program sponsors to embed financial rigor into investment decisions, actively shaping investment business cases to maximize value and clarity of outcomes, maintain alignment to strategic objectives, and ensure value commitments are delivered throughout the lifecycle of each initiative. The role creates confidence in I&T’s strategic initiatives by providing transparency into value realization, proactively identifying risks and opportunities, and driving actions to optimize return on investment and maximizing the I&T budget.

Reports to the Head of I&T Portfolio, Program and Project Management.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

1. Partners with I&T LT on framing strategic investments and ensures investment business cases articulate measurable value and benefits. Ensures value intent is maintained over the life of the program, and value impact of program change is understood.

2. Tracks and captures value from portfolio investments and key strategic initiatives. Serves as an active participant/voice in program steering teams for high value investments. Proactively has hard conversations with leaders when investments are not on track to deliver value. Partners with Portfolio Manager and Finance to ensure I&T and Business savings are realized.

3. Provides transparency to benefits realization progress; surfaces related opportunities and risks. Maintains a multi-year value forecast/value realization model; informs short- and long-term investment decisions. Provides executive summaries and dashboards for LT, Steering Teams, I&T for I&T and EPC governance bodies.

4. Maintains program VRO for strategic investments including the technology modernization initiative, in partnership with stakeholders and strategic vendors. The Director, Value Realization Office retains accountability, while the strategic vendor plays responsible roles within the effort. The program VRO tracks value against the business case, drives transparency and value integration between the program and other I&T initiatives​, and reports on SLAs and key metrics for the program.
Position Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

Education: Bachelor of Science in Finance, Management Information Systems or Business Economics and Analytics

10+ years experience evaluating investments, understanding value drivers and measuring their impact on the organization.

5+ years experience in Portfolio Management or PMO in a global environment preferred.

Experience working with enabling functions including Finance and Strategy.

Pharma/Biotech or similarly regulated environment experience desirable.

Demonstrated ability to influence at all organizational levels through clear, concise, and impactful verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to oversee a high performing and cohesive team of employees and contractors.

Adaptable to handle a fast-paced working environment.

Exceptional listener and collaborator.

Ability to work across a range of countries and cultures.

Competencies:

Strategic Alignment: Deep understanding of the organization’s strategic goals and be able to align transformation initiatives with these objectives. Ensures that projects and programs contribute directly to the desired outcomes.

Investment Management: Skilled in evaluating and prioritizing transformation investments. This includes assessing the expected value, monitoring progress, and recommending reallocation of resources as needed to maximize return on investment (ROI).

Value Realization: Track and measure the actual value generated by digital initiatives. This involves continuous assessment, adjustment, and realignment of investments based on outcomes.

Risk Management: Proactive at identifying and highlighting execution risks to ensure projects stay on track with value delivery.

Organizational Change Management: Understands change management principles and the importance they play in realizing investment value.
