The hiring range for this opportunity is $26.00 to $38.00 per hour along with incentive opportunities, creating a competitive total compensation package based on our pay scale, and may be modified by location and is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Documentation Specialist performs reviews and documentation of Bank’s commercial and small business loans to ensure compliance with established policies and standards. Reviews small- to mid- size loans of standard complexity. Analyzes and advises Lenders on modification to loan structure as needed to mitigate Bank risk/loss working with Senior documenters for guidance as needed.  Prepares commercial loan documentation in accordance with legal enforceability requirements, TCB credit policy and procedures and regulatory statutes. Partners with a Senior Documentation Specialist to train and be able to complete the mid-large size/high complexity loans i.e Construction, Asset based and Letters of Credit

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure proper loan and collateral documentation by staying abreast of various laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Prepare loan documentation completely and accurately consistent with approval terms and conditions.
  • Under the supervision of the Senior Documentation Specialist(s), draft ancillary agreements/documents outside of the documentation program as necessary to mitigate Bank’s risk exposure.
  • Under the supervision of the Senior Documentation Specialist(s), analyze proposed loan, and modify loan structure/requested documentation as necessary to mitigate Bank risk and loss.
  • Ensure adherence to commercial and business banking credit policies, Bank underwriting, regulatory compliance, etc.
  • Identify risks and make recommendations as needed based on specific loan transactions.
  • Work with branch personnel/title company/insurance agents/appraisal/credit admin to address any problems discovered during the file review.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of Entity/Collateral/Title documentation and concepts.
  • Ensures proper loan and collateral documentation by staying abreast of and interpreting various laws, compliance regulations, policies and procedures, including GLBA Privacy, Regulation B, Fair Lending, BSA, OFAC and suspicious activity reporting.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working knowledge of all aspects of the commercial lending process.
  • Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices and procedures
  • Maintains a current understanding of Bank policies and procedures in compliance with all federal and state laws, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act (SARs, CIP, OFAC), Information Security (GLBA), Identity Theft Red Flags, Financial Elder Abuse Reporting, and any other applicable regulations that may be specific to your job duties.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Prior loan documentation experience
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong computer skills including AS400 and Windows based systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess a strong work ethic, the desire to learn and grow, and to contribute to achieving maximum team performance.
  • Familiarity with lending related terms, concepts and software.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong business, analytical and planning skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and demands.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.  Ability to meet deadlines and effectively adjust to changing priorities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • May be required to lift up to 25 pounds.
