OpenAI Education is seeking an Education Content Marketing Lead who combines exceptional editorial and curriculum judgment with strong content-marketing instincts, a builder's mindset, and an engineer's approach to scale. This person will create high-quality content and the systems that move it from idea to published asset quickly and consistently.

This is a hands-on role spanning long-form editorial, curriculum, video, visual content, channel strategy, and content operations. The lead will turn strategic briefs and expert input into useful work for students, educators, institutional leaders, and education communities; grow the channels that reach them; and use data to improve both the content and the engine behind it.

How This Role Makes an Impact

Education needs a coherent, measurable content engine across audiences, formats, and channels. This role turns fragmented requests and one-off production into a prioritized portfolio, reusable workflows, dependable creative capacity, and education-specific channels that compound over time. The goal is not simply more content, but content that earns attention, supports learning and engagement, and improves through evidence.

Core Responsibilities
  • Build and continuously improve a scalable content operating system for intake, prioritization, resourcing, production, review, publishing, versioning, and reuse.

  • Apply an engineer's mindset to map dependencies, remove bottlenecks, automate repeatable work, create modular templates and playbooks, and uphold clear quality standards.

  • Maintain a single source of truth for the roadmap, editorial calendar, briefs, source material, production status, approvals, assets, and metadata.

  • Produce and edit multi-format content, including long-form articles, blogs, case studies, web and email copy, social posts, educator stories, GIFs, images, and carousels.

  • Develop practical curriculum and professional-learning resources, including lesson plans, educator guides, AI literacy materials, decks, and train-the-trainer content.

  • Shape video from concept through final cut by developing stories, scripting and editing content, preparing interviews, and directing production or post-production partners.

  • Own and grow education-specific channels across social, email, websites, and blogs through clear audience strategies, editorial plans, and consistent publishing programs.

  • Set ambitious growth and engagement goals; define measures of content quality and efficacy; instrument tracking; analyze performance; and use experiments to improve results.

  • Turn goals and expert input into clear briefs, plans, timelines, and review paths, working with partners across Content, Customer Education, Design, Marketing, Product, Research, Policy, Safety, Sales, Partnerships, and Customer Success.

  • Scale production by sourcing, onboarding, and managing a flexible bench of writers, editors, curriculum developers, designers, video partners, agencies, and other vendors.

Ideal Background
  • Significant experience (8+ years) in content production, content marketing, editorial leadership, curriculum development, instructional design, or creative production, ideally in education, edtech, AI, or another technical field.

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating excellent writing and editing across long-form editorial, curriculum or professional learning, video, social, web, and visual content.

  • A track record of building or materially improving content systems, workflows, templates, governance, tooling, automation, or publishing operations.

  • Experience owning digital channels and using audience and performance data to set ambitious growth goals, design experiments, and deliver measurable results.

  • Strong video storytelling skills, including scripting, structural editing, interview preparation, and collaboration with production and post-production specialists.

  • Ability to turn ambiguous, cross-functional input into clear requirements and polished work while sequencing priorities and managing multiple workstreams.

  • Experience sourcing and onboarding external partners, plus fluency with content-management, digital-asset-management, project-management, analytics, AI, and automation tools.
