About the Team

Droyd builds autonomous robotic systems that automate repetitive manual work in real environments. We design and manufacture our hardware in-house, which means iteration, fabrication, and execution all happen under one roof.

To operate reliably in the real world, our robots need strong electrical systems for power delivery, conversion, and subsystem integration. Our hardware team works across motors, mobile systems, batteries, and supporting power electronics — work that sits at the core of making the robot dependable and scalable.

About the Role

As an Electrical Engineer at Droyd, you will focus on system-level electrical design across motors, power, and platform integration. You will help build the electrical backbone of the robot, including power conversion and the systems that support motion and mobile operation.

This role is ideal for someone comfortable working across practical electrical architecture, hardware integration, and power-related engineering challenges.

This role is based on-site in San Francisco, CA.

In This Role, You'll

Power & Motor Systems

  • Design and integrate electrical systems for motors, mobile platforms, and robot subsystems

  • Work on power delivery, power conversion, and battery-adjacent systems

  • Support electrical architecture for 24–48V systems and related hardware

Prototyping & Reliability

  • Prototype, test, debug, and iterate on electrical subsystems quickly

  • Help improve robustness and reliability of the robot's electrical platform

Integration

  • Collaborate closely with mechanical and robotics teams on system integration

  • Make sound engineering decisions around electrical architecture and reliability

Work Environment & Schedule

  • On-site in San Francisco, CA

  • Full-time

Compensation: $150K–$210K base salary, plus equity

We're Looking For Candidates Who

  • Have strong experience with system-level electrical engineering

  • Have worked on motors, power systems, or mobile electrical platforms

  • Are comfortable with practical integration and debugging on real hardware

  • Can make sound engineering decisions around electrical architecture and reliability

  • Thrive in a fast-moving hardware startup environment

Nice to have:

  • Experience with robotics or mechatronic systems

  • Experience with power electronics or converters

  • Experience with batteries, motor systems, or mobile robots

About Droyd

Droyd builds autonomous robotic systems that operate in real production environments. We design the hardware, develop the control stack, and generate the data that enables generalist robotics.

If we do this right, robots stop being demos and start being infrastructure.

Join us and help build the systems that make it real.
