Job Summary & Responsibilities

Pyramid Semiconductor, part of the HEICO Corporation, is a designer and manufacturer of complete semiconductor integrated circuits. We specialize in providing our customers with mission-critical, high-reliability semiconductor solutions—including P1750A processors, SRAMs, EEPROMs, and FCT/FCT-T Logic—for long-lifecycle and aerospace/defense programs.

We operate a robust, fully equipped facility featuring Clean Room Assembly, Hermeticity testing, Burn-In, Marking, Visual Inspection, Lead forming, and Electrical testing. We are deeply committed to quality, maintaining ISO 9001 and AS9100D certifications, as well as the QML (Qualified Manufacturing Line) certification from the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA).

We are currently in an exciting growth phase driven by new product development. We are looking for a highly skilled, detail-oriented, and proactive Electrical Test and Product Engineer to join our lean, high-performing engineering team.

Role: In this role, you will take ownership of developing test programs for our electronic products and play a critical part in launching new devices. You will act as the technical bridge between design and manufacturing, supporting the operations team by resolving production test issues, performing failure analysis, and ensuring our products meet the highest reliability standards.

Main responsibilities:

  • Test Development: Develop, debug, and update functional and parametric test programs for various product lines (memories, logic, and microprocessors) utilizing our Automated Test Equipment, specifically the Cohu DxV.
  • New Product Introduction: Partner seamlessly with Operations, Quality, and Sales & Marketing to define test strategies and drive test development for new product development.
  • Documentation: Write and maintain comprehensive test procedures, electrical test specifications, and detailed characterization reports.
  • Production Support & Troubleshooting: Act as the first line of defense for hardware and software issues during the testing phase. Collaborate closely with the manufacturing floor to quickly identify, troubleshoot, and resolve test-related production bottlenecks.
  • Yield Improvement & Failure Analysis: Analyze test data and yield reports to identify areas for improvement. Propose and implement solutions to enhance testing reliability, increase coverage, and drive down test times. Perform hands-on failure analysis (FA) on non-conforming parts.

Preferred Qualifications

Key qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • Experience: 2 to 5 years of proven experience as an Electrical Test Engineer, Product Engineer, or similar role within the semiconductor industry.
  • Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with ATE. Experience specifically with the Cohu platform is a massive plus.
  • Proficiency in test programming/scripting (e.g., C/C++, Python).
  • Familiarity with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers) and data analysis tools.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. You must be comfortable collaborating across cross-functional teams and translating complex technical issues into actionable solutions. Being able to work in autonomy is also a key skill for this position.
  • Work Ethic: Highly detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering accurate, repeatable results. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet hard NPI deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Requirements: Must be authorized to work in the USA.
