Gurnick Academy is currently seeking an Email/SMS Marketing Specialist (Remote & Online) for the Gurnick Academy Marketing Department.

Hourly Pay Range: $31.00 – $36.00 per hour
Position: Full-time, Hybrid/Remote
Position Specifics: Attend In-person meetings and trainings at the San Jose, CA Corporate Office

Basic Function

Under the direction of the Director of Marketing Ops & Analytics, the Email/SMS Marketing Specialist is tasked with driving enrollment growth through strategic, segmented email and SMS marketing. The Email/SMS Marketing Specialist will own end-to-end planning, execution, testing, and optimization of email and SMS campaigns that nurture leads, support the admissions department, and ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

The Email Marketing Specialist has the following primary functions:

  1. Develop and execute segmented email campaigns (nurture, promotional, event, drip) aligned to enrollment goals.
  2. Build and optimize audience segmentation to improve engagement, deliverability, and conversion rates.
  3. Manage A/B testing across subject lines, content, design, and CTAs to continuously improve performance.
  4. Own the email content calendar and coordinate cross-functional content creation (marketing, admissions, creative partners).
  5. Identify and implement the appropriate Email Service Provider (ESP) and ensure strong CRM integration.
  6. Grow and maintain high-quality email lists through lead magnets, events, social media, and other acquisition strategies.
  7. Ensure full compliance with accreditation standards and regulations (ABHES, BPPE, FTC, CAN-SPAM, CCPA, GDPR), maintaining brand and policy integrity.
  8. Create and maintain an annual calendar of email campaigns related to regular enrollment cycles
  9. Present monthly campaign effectiveness report with targets/variance to the Marketing Executive Team (nurture conversions to active pipeline, etc.)
Qualifications

 Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least two (2) years of related experience and training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One (1) to two (2) years of email marketing experience running high-volume, a/b tested, targeted email campaigns for e-commerce and lead generation (B2B and/or B2C).
  • Strong analytical skills using Google Analytics or similar and lead analysis within a CRM.
  • Experience crafting impactful and compelling copywriting with graphics (images, videos, infographics, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Google Docs, Spreadsheets, and Presentations.
  • Strong preference for experience implementing an ESP solution that integrates with a CRM.
  • Strong preference for experience in the healthcare and/or higher education industries.
