Travel: Up to 40% (U.S. and international)


About the Role

At Fictiv, we’re redefining how the world imagines, designs, and manufactures complex mechanical parts used in life-saving medical devices, advanced robotics, satellites, and electric vehicles.

We’re looking for an Engineering Content Creator & Influencer with approximately five years of experience to serve as a credible, visible technical voice for modern manufacturing. This role blends real engineering knowledge with compelling storytelling, translating complex concepts into clear, engaging content for engineers, product designers, and technical decision-makers.

This is a hands-on, individual contributor role with meaningful visibility. You’ll be on camera, in the field, and working closely with engineers, product teams, and executives to tell authentic stories about how things are designed and made.


What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the on-camera host and technical voice for Fictiv’s original content, including interviews, explainers, and feature stories
  • Research, write, and produce technically rigorous content on topics such as:
    • Digital manufacturing
    • Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
    • Prototyping and production processes
    • Supply chain agility and sustainability
    • Emerging manufacturing technologies
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and executive leaders to develop thought leadership content rooted in technical accuracy and real-world experience
  • Translate complex engineering concepts into clear, engaging narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Manage content end-to-end, including concept development, technical review, filming coordination, and final delivery
  • Adapt quickly to shifting priorities in a fast-moving, growth-oriented environment
  • Travel to customer sites, partner facilities, and industry events to capture real-world manufacturing stories

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field
  • Approximately 5 years of experience creating technical content, which may include:
    • Video content
    • Technical articles, guides, or eBooks
    • Social or educational engineering content
    • Engineering teardowns, build-ups, or demonstrations
  • Strong ability to explain technical concepts clearly and accurately
  • Comfort working on camera and representing a company publicly
  • Experience collaborating with engineers, product teams, or technical stakeholders
  • Familiarity with tools such as:
    • Google Workspace
    • Slack
    • Asana
    • CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks)
    • LLMs and AI-assisted content tools
  • Working knowledge of AP or Chicago style writing standards
  • Creativity, curiosity, and a genuine interest in how things are designed and manufactured

Nice to Have

  • Experience in manufacturing, hardware, or industrial technology environments
  • A public-facing content portfolio (video, articles, talks, or similar)
  • Experience interviewing engineers or industry leaders

Compensation

  • Base salary: $110,000 – $135,000 USD, depending on experience and location
  • Variable compensation: $10,000 – $20,000 USD annually, based on impact and execution
  • Total compensation is primarily base-driven, with variable compensation tied to content delivery, quality, engagement, and cross-functional impact
