Engineering Content Creator & On-Camera Host

Mechanical Engineering Background | Global Reach | Real Impact

Build the future. Then explain how it works.

At Fictiv, we help engineers turn ambitious ideas into real, physical products — from life-saving medical devices and electric vehicles to satellites, humanoid robots, and hardware that hasn’t been invented yet.

We’re looking for an Engineering Content Creator who can step in front of the camera, ask smart questions, break down complex ideas, and tell great stories about how modern manufacturing actually happens.

If you love engineering and love explaining it — if you’ve ever fallen down a rabbit hole trying to understand how something was designed, built, or optimized — you’ll feel right at home here.

What you’ll do

You’ll be the technical voice and on-camera host for Fictiv’s engineering content, helping educate and inspire a global audience of engineers, designers, and decision-makers.

Specifically, you’ll:

  • Serve as the on-camera host for Fictiv’s engineering-focused social content — leading interviews, explaining concepts, and spotlighting the innovations shaping manufacturing and design.
  • Research, write, and produce technical content across formats: short-form video, social posts, blogs, guides, and deep-dive explainers.
  • Cover topics like digital manufacturing, DFM, prototyping, supply chain strategy, production technologies, and emerging trends.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, product teams, and executives — both inside and outside Fictiv — to turn real expertise into compelling stories.
  • Translate complex engineering ideas into clear, engaging narratives without dumbing them down.
  • Adapt quickly as priorities shift in a fast-moving, growth-oriented environment.

Who you are

You’re equal parts engineer, storyteller, and curious human.

  • You enjoy experimenting with content formats (short-form video, series, trends) and actually look at engagement data to see what’s working.
  • You love figuring out how things work — and explaining them to others in a way that clicks.
  • You’re comfortable working with CEOs, founders, and senior engineering leaders.
  • You’re creative enough to sketch, visualize, or execute engineering drawings and concepts for articles and videos.
  • You’re excited to travel to industry events, meetups, and manufacturing sites (up to ~40%).
  • You’re passionate about engineering… and yes, being a little bit of a quirky nerd is a bonus.
  • You like pushing boundaries and trying things that haven’t been done before.

What you bring

  • B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years creating technical content across formats — video, social media, articles, guides, eBooks, teardowns, build-ups, or web content.
  • Familiarity with tools like Google Workspace, Slack, Asana, SolidWorks, CAD software, and modern AI/LLM tools.
  • Strong writing fundamentals and comfort working within AP or Chicago style.
  • A genuine connection to Fictiv’s mission and a high bar for quality.

Why Fictiv

You won’t just be marketing engineering — you’ll be embedded in it.

At Fictiv, you’ll help shape how engineers around the world think about design, manufacturing, and bringing hardware to life. You’ll work with smart, passionate people who care deeply about what they’re building — and why it matters.

If you want your work to educate, inspire, and leave a real mark on the future of engineering, we’d love to meet you.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) plan
  • Monthly virtual work stipend (internet, food, wellness, pet care, travel)
  • Annual education stipend
  • Paid parental leave
  • Paid volunteer days
  • Full onboarding setup (standing desk, laptop, monitor, chair)
  • Ergonomic and equipment stipend
  • And more

Salary Range

$110,000 – $135,000 per year plus a variable compensation potential of $10,000 - $20,000 per year, depending on experience
