Why Harvey

At Harvey, we’re transforming how legal and professional services operate — not incrementally, but end-to-end. By combining frontier agentic AI, an enterprise-grade platform, and deep domain expertise, we’re reshaping how critical knowledge work gets done for decades to come.

This is a rare chance to help build a generational company at a true inflection point. With 1000+ customers in 60+ countries, strong product-market fit, and world-class investor support, we’re scaling fast and defining a new category in real time. The work is ambitious, the bar is high, and the opportunity for growth — personal, professional, and financial — is unmatched.

Our team is sharp, motivated, and deeply committed to the mission. We move fast, operate with intensity, and take real ownership of the problems we tackle — from early thinking to long-term outcomes. We stay close to our customers — from leadership to engineers — and work together to solve real problems with urgency and care. If you thrive in ambiguity, push for excellence, and want to help shape the future of work alongside others who raise the bar, we invite you to build with us.

At Harvey, the future of professional services is being written today — and we’re just getting started.

Role Overview

The Embedded Experience team brings Harvey to where lawyers already work–embedding Harvey natively inside Microsoft Word, Outlook, and beyond. Our Word Add-In puts seamless AI-powered drafting, editing, review, and contract management directly inside the tools professionals live in every day, building first-of-their-kind products that meet them where they are.

As an Engineering Manager, you'll lead a team of full-stack engineers building these embedded surfaces–from AI-powered workflows inside Word to deep integrations across the professional toolkit. This role is equal parts product intuition and technical execution. You'll be trusted to make fast, high-quality decisions, ship impactful features, and grow a team that embodies engineering excellence in a high-autonomy, exploratory environment.

We move with urgency, bias toward simplicity, and expect our leaders to be hands-on when needed. If you’re energized by ownership, decisive execution, and solving real user problems, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do
  • Lead engineering team(s) building Harvey's embedded experiences, including integrations with Microsoft Word and Outlook.

  • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and other teams to identify and execute on high-impact initiatives.

  • Guide architecture and system design decisions, ensuring the team builds scalable, reliable systems.

  • Enable your team to engage directly with customers and translate their feedback into product and technical direction.

  • Hire, grow, and retain exceptional engineers who thrive in a high-trust, high-impact environment.

  • Foster a culture of simplicity, quality, and continuous improvement.

  • Contribute to code and architecture reviews, unblock teams, and lead by example when needed.

What You Have
  • 2+ years of experience in a software engineering management role, preferably in high-growth environments.

  • 5+ years of experience as a backend or full-stack engineer, with enough depth to guide technical decisions and credibly review your team's work.

  • A track record of leading high-performing, engaged engineering teams.

  • Strong product sense and an instinct for balancing speed, quality, and user impact.

  • Comfort operating in ambiguous, exploratory problem spaces.
