Lead the engineers building Gallup’s next generation of products and platforms.

As an engineering manager at Gallup, you’ll lead the engineers responsible for our most forward-looking work, including the experiments, prototypes and net-new bets that will define the next decade of our business. You’ll guide a team contributing to major launches and platform buildouts across CliftonStrengths®, employee engagement and other research-driven product initiatives, driving innovation from concept to production with clarity and discipline.

You’ll partner closely with product, design, research and fellow engineering leaders to ensure innovation work ships independently, predictably and at high quality, while maintaining alignment with core platform teams.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, grow and develop a team of eight to 12 engineers across multiple concurrent innovation initiatives
  • Serve as the engineering voice in road map decisions for experimental and innovation work
  • Coordinate with other engineering teams to achieve alignment and seamless integration
  • Establish delivery standards, raise the technical bar and set the team’s operating cadence
  • Own the engineering side of cross-functional initiative kickoffs, midpoints and launches
  • Surface and resolve delivery risks before they become execution problems
  • Partner with architecture leadership to ensure innovation work supports long-term platform strategy
  • Run hiring, performance management, leveling and career development for innovation engineers

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Technical depth: You are comfortable in architecture discussions and code reviews and can push for sound engineering decisions without micromanaging.
  • Platform mindset: You understand how experimental work fits into broader ecosystems and how to build without creating long-term technical debt.
  • Strategic judgment: You see the broader picture, anticipate trade-offs and make decisions that balance speed with long-term impact.
  • Leadership success: You build trust, create clarity and hold engineers accountable for delivering complex products predictably and at high quality.
  • Cross-functional credibility: Product and design partners describe you and your team as clear, thoughtful, predictable partners who produce high-quality work.

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience, required
  • At least 10 years of professional engineering experience required
  • At least two years of experience managing full-stack or product engineering teams required
  • Demonstrated success leading teams of eight or more engineers through complex, multi-quarter product launches required
  • Strong technical foundation with the ability to contribute to architecture discussions and code reviews required
  • Excellent cross-functional partnership skills, especially with product and design required
  • Track record of hiring and growing senior engineers required
  • Experience leading teams through a product platform or ecosystem transition preferred
  • Background in B2B SaaS, edtech or assessment-driven products preferred
  • Familiarity with modern AI/ML integration patterns preferred
  • A commitment to working on-site at Gallup’s San Francisco office at least three days per week required
