About Us

Higharc is a VC-backed startup that is changing how new homes are designed and built. Join a founding team who’ve shipped products for Autodesk, Electronic Arts, Nike, and Apple. We have raised a total of $83M with support from top-notch venture capital firms and more than 18 strategic investors—industry leaders in construction, building products manufacturing, and distribution.

We’re seeking an Engineering Leader to lead development of Higharc Studio, our browser-based 2D and 3D CAD design tool. This role is central to realizing Higharc’s vision: an accessible, intelligent design environment for the future of homebuilding.

What You'll Do

You’ll lead a team building a high-performance CAD experience that runs entirely in the browser—spanning computational geometry, 3D visualization, and rich interactive editing. You’ll combine strong technical leadership with deep expertise in frontend architectures, web graphics, and the design challenges unique to CAD systems. Expect to:

  • Lead the design, planning, and delivery of engineering projects within Higharc Studio.

  • Partner with the Building Generation team to define and maintain a clean API surface between the building model layer and Studio's interaction and rendering systems.

  • Drive architectural and technical decisions for Studio’s frontend systems, ensuring performance, maintainability, and a delightful user experience.

  • Balance rapid iteration with systematic improvements to quality, testability, and technical debt reduction.

  • Develop and mentor a high-performing team of engineers, fostering technical depth, accountability, and collaboration.

  • Co-own the product roadmap with product and design leaders — bringing engineering judgment into prioritization and trade-off decisions from the start, not just at execution.

  • Own the operating rhythm of the Studio team: drive toward async-first, minimal-meeting delivery, clear ownership on decisions, and high engineering accountability without management overhead.

About You

You’re an action-oriented owner who builds clarity and momentum without heavy process. You're excited to make a meaningful impact on a highly complex product in a rapidly growing company because you've done it before.

You have:

  • 3+ years of engineering management experience, including mentoring Senior engineers and scaling teams.

  • Deep experience building and leading teams delivering complex, interactive 2D/3D applications in the browser.

  • Strong technical background in frontend architecture (React, TypeScript, WebAssembly, Web Workers).

  • Proven expertise with graphics frameworks and CAD-related technologies such as Three.js, WebGL, or custom geometry kernels.

  • Highly skilled cross-functional communication skills and influence, considering trade offs and building trust quickly

  • Familiarity with geometric modeling, constraint solving, or real-time rendering pipelines.

  • Passion for bringing sophisticated 2D/3D tools to life in the browser and pushing the limits of web-based CAD.
