HackerRank helps thousands of companies hire developers based on skills rather than pedigree, and also nurtures a community of millions of developers to upskill and become next-gen developers.

The people at HackerRank care deeply about their work and have an extremely intense work ethic. In many companies, speed & quality are a tradeoff. At HackerRank, it’s not; we expect you to ship in about half the time that most competent people think is possible while maintaining a standard of quality you’d proudly sign your name on. The only way to make this happen is to truly love your craft and be deeply committed to growth.

About the role

The Integrations team owns the pipelines that enable data to flow in and out of HackerRank, allowing customers to use HackerRank products from any third-party tool seamlessly. We meet the customers where they are from Applicant Tracking Systems to communication tools such as Slack and Zoom. Integration is a critical part of the business and is one of the many reasons why customers choose HackerRank. Making this seem simple to customers means abstracting away the complexities of making systems talk to each other in a scalable and resilient way, and that wouldn’t be possible without a team of skilled engineers.

As an Engineering Manager, you’ll define the technical vision, drive execution, and lead a team of talented engineers building integrations that power a smooth, connected experience for customers. You’ll shape the roadmap, mentor your team, and push the boundaries of scale and reliability.

What you’ll do
  • Lead the development of scalable, resilient integrations with third-party systems like ATS, HRMS, and HRIS.
  • Own the technical strategy - designing clean APIs, reusable architectures, and systems that are easy to evolve.
  • Partner with the product team to shape the roadmap and define what great looks like.
  • Mentor engineers, set clear growth paths, and build a team that’s collaborative and high-performing.
  • Streamline execution through better processes, automation, and by removing delivery friction.
Who you are
  • An engineering leader with a proven track record of building and scaling high-performing teams while staying hands-on when needed.
  • Known for mentoring engineers and fostering an environment where technical excellence and ownership thrive.
  • Skilled at driving alignment across teams, simplifying complex problems, and keeping execution on track.
  • Bring expertise in modern stacks like Node.js, Ruby, React, Lambda, microservices, authentication, and authorization.
Even better if you have
  • Led integrations in HR tech ecosystems.
  • Experience leveraging AI-driven automation to scale integrations and reduce operational overhead.
  • Designed self-serve developer tools that speed up integration adoption.
You will thrive in this role if
  • You care deeply about developer experience and building intuitive, reusable APIs.
  • Enjoy automating workflows to remove friction and boost team velocity.
  • Thinking in systems comes naturally - especially when designing platforms that support complex integrations at scale.
Compensation
  • Base salary range: $210,000 – $246,000.
  • This range doesn’t include bonuses, stock options, or benefits for which you will be eligible.
  • Final offer may vary based on skills, experience, location, and other compensation components.
