The Role

As an Engineering Manager at Triumph, you'll lead and grow the team building the systems behind Triumph Arcade and Rips. You'll be accountable for both the people and the product — developing engineers, partnering with product and design on roadmap, and hiring the talent that lets us keep pace with our own growth.

What You'll Do
  • Stay hands-on with the codebase while leading the team - contributing to architecture, pushing code, and managing through the work rather than around it

  • Grow and develop engineers through direct feedback, high standards, and creating clear paths for career progression

  • Own hiring for your team: sourcing strategy, interview process design, and closing candidates who raise the bar

  • Partner with product and design to translate business goals into clear engineering scope, sequencing work to maximize impact and minimize rework

  • Drive technical architecture and system design decisions, balancing long-term scalability with the pragmatism of a fast-moving product environment

  • Lead project execution end-to-end: breaking down ambiguous problems, managing dependencies, and keeping delivery on track without micromanaging

  • Leverage AI tools actively - both in your own work and in setting the standard for how your team uses them to move faster and write better software

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of engineering management experience, with direct people management and hiring accountability

  • Strong technical foundation — you've built backend, mobile, or full-stack systems and can engage substantively with architectural decisions

  • Track record of developing engineers: promotions, lateral growth, performance management when needed

  • Experience in fast-moving consumer product environments where roadmap changes are a feature, not a bug

  • Bonus: experience in gaming, real-money products, or marketplace/trading platforms where trust and reliability are central to the product

Why Triumph?
  • High growth. Build a high-scale consumer platform that touches gaming, finance, and social with the autonomy to set our web direction.

  • High agency. Small, high-impact engineering team that is growing rapidly with significant opportunity for leadership and growth.

  • High energy. Passionate team who are proud of our work and velocity (16x year over year growth).

  • Competitive salary and benefits. $400/mo lunch credit, healthcare, vision, dental, 401k, etc.

Our team gathers 5 days a week at Triumph’s headquarters at Levi’s Plaza in San Francisco.
