Proofpoint Engineering is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Intermediate Program Manager to support our teams in delivering high-quality products and features that protect people, data, and brands from cybersecurity threats. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams in a dynamic Agile environment, ensuring smooth execution of our Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from planning to product release. What You’ll Do

  • Support and coordinate the development lifecycle, ensuring timely, high-quality releases in an Agile environment.

  • Assist in planning and scheduling projects, prioritizing features, and tracking dependencies and deliverables.

  • Facilitate sprint activities, including planning, daily stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives.

  • Maintain dashboards and reports to communicate sprint progress and performance metrics.

  • Serve as a point of contact for cross-functional collaboration across Engineering, Product Management, Operations, and Customer Support teams.

  • Monitor scope changes, identify risks, and escalate issues to ensure resolution.

  • Balance priorities, including addressing customer escalations and feature requests, while maintaining project timelines.

  • Continuously improve team processes through retrospectives and feedback.

 

What You Bring to the Team

  • Experience: 3–5 years as a Program Manager in software development, with a strong understanding of Agile-Scrum methodologies.

  • Technical Proficiency: Basic understanding of software development processes and the ability to manage dependencies and deliverables effectively.

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to diverse audiences.

  • Organization: Strong organizational skills, with a focus on prioritization, attention to detail, and follow-through.

  • Adaptability: Ability to handle shifting priorities, navigate ambiguity, and maintain composure under pressure.

  • Tools Expertise: Familiarity with the Atlassian toolset (Jira, Confluence).

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets as set out below. Pay within these ranges varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate. The range provided may represent a candidate range and may not reflect the full range for an individual tenured employee. This role may be eligible for variable compensation and/or equity. We offer a competitive benefits package, including flexible time off, a comprehensive well-being program with two paid Wellbeing Days and two paid Volunteer Days per year, plus a three-week Work from Anywhere option.

Base Pay Ranges:

SF Bay Area, New York City Metro Area:

Base Pay Range: 123,200.00 - 193,600.00 USD

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Washington DC Metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Texas, Washington, Virginia, and Alaska:

Base Pay Range: 102,300.00 - 160,820.00 USD

All other cities and states excluding those listed above:

Base Pay Range: 92,100.00 - 144,705.00 USD
