Job Description
Responsibilities:
Analyze work force, facility layout and operational data such as production costs, flow charts and production schedules to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
Collect data and perform engineering studies including process waste evaluation, time studies, value stream maps, efficiency, process capability studies, controls charts and others.
Assist evaluation, development and implement Lean Manufacturing in all processes to improve efficiency, increase productivity or improve quality.
Recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, relocating work stations and equipment.
Train personnel and perform Kaizen events. Work individually or with groups in special projects. Administer 5S and supports My Kaizen Idea Programs.
Required Experience:
Education
Associate’s degree in engineering or science field.
Work Experience
At least 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge and experience using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools.
Excellent statistical/mathematical aptitude.
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns).
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: applying a theme, formatting character spacing, inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions, customizing slide numbers, changing chart style and/or formatting font).
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
Technical writing ability.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or science field.
Knowledge of Minitab and AutoCad.
