About this roleResponsible for developing, maintaining, supporting, and enhancing integrations between new or existing systems. This includes troubleshooting system issues, developing enhancements, recommending changes to integrations, identifying new technology capabilities, and supporting system updates. Works with stakeholders to understand business goals and requirements to arrive at a technical solution.

What a day of an Enterprise Solutions Developer looks like:

  • Designs, develops, configures, tests, and maintains new and existing integrations utilizing Workday Studio Developer, Workday Web Services, Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Workday Custom Reports (RaaS), Calculated Fields, Java, Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations (XSLT), and XML Path Language (XPATH). Develops, tests, and maintains programmatic solutions to migrate data from legacy systems to Workday and its various functional modules. Develops, tests, and maintains new and existing BIRT Designs utilizing Workday Custom Reports (RaaS), Calculated Fields, and JavaScript.

  • Effectively documents the architecture, design, and functionality of software under development while adhering to technology and industry standards and best practices.

  • Adheres to Information Technology and security standards and implements appropriate security safeguards to protect and maintain confidentiality and privacy of information.

  • Tests integrations, applications, programs, and systems. Verifies that data input and output is accurate, complete, and usable for processing. Creates specifications and makes recommendations for changes assisting stakeholders in the efficiency and flow of their business processes or procedures.

  • Resolves system errors or failures. Involves identifying system problems and implementing corrective actions. Problems addressed include hardware, software, and procedures.

  • Participates in the development of testing strategies and testing plans. Participates in and execution of testing strategies and plans for new and existing integrations and when new ERP system software versions are installed. Develops test cases and performs peer code reviews. Plans, schedules, and prepares user training, including development of training guides, and documentation.

  • Participates in additional quality assurance practices as required.  Collects and evaluates performance data of integrations, applications, programs, and services leveraging Workday tools or other metrics-based tooling. Fine tune systems as required.

  • Assists in discovery sessions with business stakeholders for each domain specific or cross-functional integration, computing system, application, program, or service. Defines and assesses order, activities, up and down-stream dependencies, touchpoints, and deliverables. Reviews deliverables and reports status to management.

  • Collaborates with third-party vendors, consultants, business stakeholders, other institutions, and other project team members on various aspects of integration development and implementation.

  • Maintains current knowledge of field and profession through certification and training programs.  Independently researches new techniques and tools required to keep pace with new technologies, including new connectors that can replace legacy processes. Travels to training workshops, conferences, meetings, and professional association events outside of college locations as needed. 

  • Functions in an on-call capacity for response to hardware, software and network systems repair needed during normal business hours or instances where the college is closed.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and two years of related experience; or Associates degree and four years of related experience

  • Experience with Java or J2EE and JavaScript Development or similar application

  • Experience with XML or XSLT or similar application

Knowledge of:

  • ERP Integration methodologies

  • SOAP or REST Web Services technologies

  • Eclipse-based development environments

  • Microsoft SQL or similar applications

  • Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications

Skilled in:                

  • Developing and supporting simple integrations using the various ERP integration technologies

  • Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management

Ability to:

  • Evaluate and understand complex interrelationships and effects among programs, interfacing applications, and platforms

  • Organize and prioritize multiple, competing priorities to maximize personal and team effectiveness

  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations, and take responsibility for a high level of service

  • Work independently and effectively on multiple tasks as well as in a team environment

  • Exchange information and collaborate with colleagues and peers to perform as a strategic partner and ensure that business strategies fully leverage provider capabilities

Licenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements:

  • Regular physical attendance required

Preferred, but not a must:

Education and Experience:

  • One year of experience with Workday Integrations including EIB, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, and Workday Studio.

  • One year of experience creating Workday custom reports and calculated fields

Knowledge of:

  • Workday Studio or other Eclipse-based integrated development environment (IDE)

  • SOAPUI or other API Testing tool

Skilled in:                

  • SOAP and REST Web Service development

  • XML, XSLT and XPATH development and transformation

  • Java, JavaScript and JSON development

  • Complex Microsoft SQL statements

  • BIRT design

Ability to:

  • Understand business processes in Workday

  • Evaluate short and long-term business needs, goals, and priorities

  • Anticipate, draw conclusions, and adapt to changing needs and demands

Licenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements:

  • Workday Pro or other comparable ERP Integrations certifications

Work Environment and Physical Demand:

  • Reach and grasp objects

  • Use of video display terminal

  • Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills

  • Communicate information orally and in writing

  • Receive and understand information through oral and written communication

  • Proofread and check documents for accuracy

The minimum base pay for this position starts at $57,778.00 annually; however, the offer may vary based on the candidate’s education and experience.
