About this role

As the EPC Transactions Lead on Intersect's Procurement team, you will take complete ownership of high-value EPC and equipment supply transactions, with a primary focus on gas generation projects for data centers alongside the related high voltage, battery storage, wind, and solar PV scope. Reporting directly to the Director, Procurement, you will lead major commercial deals: structuring RFPs, negotiating complex EPC agreements, and coordinating Development, Engineering, Construction, Project Finance, and Legal to bring bankable contracts to execution. Success in this role depends on decisive cross-functional leadership, command of the numbers, and commercial composure under pressure. You will build deep, respectful partnerships with EPC contractors and suppliers while driving rigorous quantitative analysis and clear executive alignment to secure long-run value for Intersect's power infrastructure.
Success here hinges on decisive inter-departmental leadership, meticulous organization, and commercial composure under pressure. You will cultivate deep, respectful partnerships with EPC contractors, suppliers, and OEMs while driving rigorous quantitative analysis and clear executive alignment to secure long-run value for Intersect's power infrastructure fleet.

Team overview

The Procurement team plays a critical role in advancing Intersect's mission to accelerate the clean energy transition and power critical digital infrastructure. We negotiate construction (EPC), major equipment, and O&M contracts and develop lasting partnerships with execution partners and top-tier OEMs. Joining this tight-knit group means stepping into a high-ownership environment where your commercial judgment directly unlocks multi-billion-dollar power and data center projects.

What you'll do

Own and Execute EPC Transactions

  • Structure, negotiate, and execute EPC  and equipment supply contracts, with a primary focus on gas generation projects for data centers alongside BESS, PV, wind, and high-voltage assets—ensuring alignment with project schedules and financial targets.

  • Lead end-to-end EPC and equipment supply request for proposal (RFP) processes, including scope definition, commercial and quantitative bid leveling, and final award recommendations.

  • Manage post-contract actions, including amendments, change orders, claims, performance monitoring, and warranty administration.

Drive Cross-Functional Deal Leadership

  • Take full accountability for transaction task lists, timelines, and deliverables, leading stakeholders across Development, Engineering, Construction, Project Finance, and Legal to contribute effectively to final deal execution.

  • Translate complex technical, legal, and financial requirements into cohesive commercial contract structures in Google Docs that satisfy project finance bankability standards.

  • Distill multi-faceted commercial tradeoffs, risk allocations, and pricing models into crisp, persuasive executive presentations in Google Slides to drive rapid leadership decisions.

Cultivate Strategic Supplier & Counterparty Partnerships

  • Build and maintain trusted, respectful relationships with tier-one EPC contractors, key gas generation OEMs and major equipment suppliers to secure manufacturing capacity and competitive commercial terms.

  • Maintain calmness and constructive focus under adversity, resolving commercial deadlocks, supply chain bottlenecks, and schedule pressures without sacrificing long-term partnership value.

What you'll bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Business, or a related field; engineering background preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in EPC procurement and contracting for large-scale gas generation, oil & gas, data center or utility-scale renewable energy projects, with gas experience strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated transaction leadership with the ability to take complete ownership of a deal, manage complex task lists with accuracy and attention to detail, and guide cross-functional teams without formal authority.

  • Strong commercial contracting and negotiation skills, including familiarity with warranties, liquidated damages, performance guarantees, limitation of liability, and delivery schedules.

  • Strong quantitative analysis and executive communication skills, with high proficiency in Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Excel, and Slack to model commercial scenarios and present clear recommendations.

  • Strategic thinking paired with calmness under adversity, bringing structure, organization, and respect to both internal colleagues and external counterparties.

  • Commitment to collaborative execution and principled deal-making, aligned with Intersect's core values of Equity, Humility, Authenticity, Long-run Value, and People Come First.
