General Summary and Purpose:

RS Investments (an investment franchise of Victory Capital) Growth Team in San Francisco is hiring for an Equity Research Associate. In this role, you will provide support to the fundamental investment process working with senior analysts and portfolio managers who manage growth-oriented equity funds.  This position requires regular interaction with Portfolio Managers and other associates as a valued contributor within an environment where initiative, teamwork, technical capabilities, and effective communication skills will be essential to your success.  You will be well-prepared to develop stock coverage after 2 years.

You will report to the Portfolio Manager.

You Will:
  • Work with our senior analysts to generate proprietary fundamental analysis of the sector, the industry, and the companies within scope of coverage.
  • Engage with top management of companies, industry experts, sell-side analysts, and experienced colleagues.
  • Participate in third party research calls and perform channel checks.
  • Analyze financial statements and develop projections.
  • Prepare comparable company analysis.
  • Write stock recommendation summaries.
  • Assist in stock coverage (earnings calls and updating models).
  • Monitor daily research news flow and industries.
You Have:
  • A bachelor’s degree.
  • 2 plus years of fulltime employment experience post-graduation.
  • Experience with financial concepts, accounting, and strong financial modeling skills.
  • Growth mindset and willingness to collaboration.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills plus detail-orientation.
  • High motivation with ability to be a self-starter and resourceful.
  • Passion for investing and the stock market.
  • Mastery of Excel (can perform complex functions) and proficiency with Factset and PowerPoint.
Target Compensation:

The target base salary for this position is $120,000. 

Salaries are determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data/ranges, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees, and certifications.

Victory Capital Management operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and total compensation may vary based on role, location, department and individual performance.

 Victory Capital Management’s total compensation package includes the opportunity for annual compensation bonuses and/or commissions and a generous benefits package.
