Position Overview: Events & Marketing Coordinator

The Events & Marketing Coordinator will assist the Director of Operations & Advancement in sharing the mission and vision of United Way of Santa Barbara County through multiple channels including United Way’s website, print materials, and multimedia/social media communications. The Events & Marketing Coordinator will also assist in planning efforts for community and fundraising events. Additional duties may be assigned to this role as organizational projects, activities, and priorities evolve.

Key Responsibilities:

MARKETING

Collaborate with the Director of Operations & Advancement to execute marketing strategies, including social media campaigns, blog posts, and press releases.

Lead internal maintenance of United Way website, front-facing collateral, communications channels, and other public listings.

Create, schedule, and analyze engaging content across digital and print marketing platforms, ensuring consistency and alignment with United Way’s mission.

Contribute to the creation and maintenance of compelling visual and written content that resonates with United Way’s target audience, including the annual organizational video, Impact Report, marketing templates, and direct appeals.

Additional duties may be assigned to this role as organizational projects, activities, and priorities evolve.

EVENTS

Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of United Way’s annual fundraising gala, Women United Luncheon, Alexis de Tocqueville & Leadership Reception, and other organization events.

Assist the Director of Operations & Advancement with internal management of affinity group operations such as Women United, the Young Leaders Society, and the Executive Club.

Help manage event logistics, such as guest registration, venue coordination, and vendor communication.

Work collaboratively with various departments to streamline internal communications and assess organizational marketing & communications needs.

Work with the Director of Operations & Advancement to maintain accurate reporting and recordkeeping for events, affinity group membership, and recognition in United Way CRM tools.

Additional duties may be assigned to this role as organizational projects, activities, and priorities evolve.

Requirements

  

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, X, etc.) and digital marketing trends.

· Detail-oriented and able to multitask effectively in a dynamic environment.

· Self-motivated and eager to learn and contribute to team efforts.

· Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of individuals.

· Basic knowledge of event planning principles is preferred.
