Matternet is building the future of delivery with autonomous drone networks that move critical goods faster, cleaner, and at lower cost. We work with partners across healthcare, logistics, food, and retail to deliver everything from medical items to everyday essentials, safely and reliably.

We are seeking a highly capable Executive Assistant to work directly with our Founder and CEO. The CEO operates at the intersection of product, partnerships, policy, and capital — engaging in any given week with investors, board members, global commercial partners, press, and internal teams. He communicates with precision, moves decisively, and expects the same of those around him. The Executive Assistant will be a critical partner in enabling his effectiveness at a pivotal moment for the company, as we scale commercial operations, deepen partnerships across multiple continents, and prepare for our next chapter.

This role offers unparalleled exposure to the strategic, operational, and commercial functions of a venture-backed technology company, with clear opportunity to expand scope of responsibility over time.

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate brings significant intellectual horsepower, a strong work ethic, and a genuine orientation toward service. We are interested in candidates who are eager to grow, accept responsibility, and contribute at a high level from day one.

  • Deliberate. Rigorous, intentional, and detail-oriented. You plan ahead, anticipate needs, and prevent mistakes before they occur.
  • Team-oriented. You communicate candidly and listen humbly. You are accountable to the people you support and to the broader team.
  • Resourceful and creative. You find aesthetic, simple solutions to complex logistical problems and are willing to explore non-obvious paths.
  • Composed under pressure. You remain calm and effective when plans change quickly, and you adapt without losing momentum.
  • Discreet and trustworthy. You understand the weight of confidential information and treat it accordingly.
  • Committed to delivery. You work smart, hold yourself to a high standard of follow-through, and take ownership of outcomes.

Responsibilities:

The Executive Assistant will own the full operational cadence of the CEO's work life and serve as a trusted liaison between the CEO and the broader ecosystem of internal teams, investors, partners, customers, and external stakeholders.

  • Calendar Management. Own and optimize a complex, fast-changing schedule spanning multiple time zones. Prioritize competing demands, protect focused working time, and exercise sound judgment when conflicts arise.
  • Travel & Logistics. Coordinate domestic and international travel end-to-end, including flights, accommodations, ground transportation, visas, and detailed itineraries. Ensure smooth execution across every leg of every trip.
  • Meeting Preparation & Follow-Through. Assemble briefing materials, background research, and agendas for investor meetings, board sessions, partner engagements, and regulatory discussions. Capture action items and drive them to closure.
  • Communications & Stakeholder Management. Triage inbound requests, draft correspondence, and manage communications with investors, board members, commercial partners, media contacts, and internal leadership. Serve as a polished and discreet representative of the CEO’s office.
  • Recruiting & Executive Hiring Support. Coordinate interview logistics for senior hires, partner with the People team on candidate experience, and ensure the CEO is prepared for every interview and debrief.
  • Administrative Operations. Manage expense reporting, vendor relationships, document organization, and the full range of administrative tasks that keep the CEO’s office running smoothly.
  • Confidentiality & Discretion. Handle highly sensitive materials related to financing, legal, and strategic matters with absolute discretion and professionalism.
  • Special Projects. Take on ad hoc initiatives on behalf of the CEO, ranging from event coordination to research assignments to cross-functional project support.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Demonstrated experience operating in demanding, fast-paced environments — whether professional, academic, or otherwise — with evidence of meaningful responsibility and achievement.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Approachable style and the ability to effectively and professionally interface with senior executives, investors, partners, and team members, both internal and external.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. Proven ability to multitask across multiple stakeholders and priorities while delivering high-quality results with consistent follow-through.
  • Ability to own projects end-to-end with minimal supervision; comfortable driving work across multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates curiosity and a genuine desire to understand the needs of the Office of the CEO.
  • Highly trustworthy, with the ability to exercise sound discretion and function effectively under ambiguous direction and shifting requirements.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in scheduling meetings across multiple international time zones.
  • Fluency with Mac OS, Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, and similar modern productivity tools.
  • Ability to build rapport quickly with international partners and stakeholders, with comfort handling late-evening or early-morning coordination when time zones require it.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Willing to work on-site at our Mountain View, CA headquarters five days a week.
