Provide high-leverage support to founders (calendar, travel, scheduling); run office operations (space, supplies, vendors, meals); manage team logistics, onboarding, events and offsites; build operational systems and processes; proactively identify and resolve issues to keep a fast-growing team focused on mission.
The summary above was generated by AI

Our mission is general causal intelligence; AI that is capable of (1) predicting the future and (2) identifying the actions to alter it.

To achieve this breakthrough, we are building a Large Physics foundation Model (LPM) because physical systems, unlike text or images, are governed by verifiable cause and effect. We believe that scaling on physics will enable an understanding of causality required to predict and control physical systems, starting with weather.

Our founding team has built and deployed AI against the physical world in robotics, drug discovery, and particle physics at institutions like DeepMind, Waymo, Cruise, Insitro, Nabla Bio, and CERN.

We're looking for an exceptional operator to be the backbone of a fast-growing team. As one of our earliest operations hires, you'll keep our founders focused on the mission and our office running so smoothly that no one has to think about it. Your mission is to remove friction everywhere by anticipating what the team needs before it asks, and making it happen.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-leverage support to our founders: own their calendars, travel, and scheduling, and protect their time for what matters most

  • Run the office and workplace end to end — space, supplies, meals, and vendors — creating an environment where the team does its best work

  • Own team logistics and culture: coordinate onboarding, team events, and offsites that bring a fast-growing team together

  • Build the operational systems and processes that let the company scale smoothly as we grow

  • Be the person who makes things happen — spotting what's needed and handling it before it becomes a problem

What we're looking for

We value a relentless approach to problem-solving, rapid execution, and the ability to quickly learn in unfamiliar domains.

  • Experience as an executive assistant, office manager, or in a similar operations role, ideally in a fast-paced or high-growth environment

  • Exceptional organization and attention to detail, with the ability to juggle many priorities at once

  • Strong judgment and discretion in handling sensitive information and competing demands

  • A proactive, resourceful, get-it-done attitude — no task too big or too small

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
