Job Description:

The Role:

SiFive is seeking a highly capable Executive Business Partner / Executive Assistant to the CTO & EVP Engineering to provide a combination of high-quality executive support and strong business/operational leverage. This role is ideal for someone who can handle the fundamentals of executive support with excellence—calendar management, travel, meeting preparation, communications, and follow-through—while also stepping into more strategic and analytical work that helps the CTO and broader engineering organization operate effectively.

This person will be a trusted partner to the CTO and EVP Engineering in managing day-to-day priorities, driving operating cadence for the engineering organization, and supporting cross-functional work spanning financial planning, product planning, headcount and organizational planning, and data-heavy spreadsheet analysis. The right candidate is organized, analytical, discreet, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving technical environment.

This is not a pure administrative support role. We are looking for someone who can anticipate needs, improve operating rhythm, build structure where needed, and help the CTO stay focused on the highest-value work.

Key ResponsibilitiesExecutive Support
  • Manage a complex and fast-changing calendar, ensuring the CTO’s time is aligned with business priorities.

  • Coordinate domestic and international travel, including detailed itineraries and contingency planning.

  • Prepare the CTO for meetings by organizing agendas, materials, pre-reads, and follow-up items.

  • Handle expenses, approvals, and other administrative workflows accurately and on time.

  • Serve as a trusted point of coordination for internal and external stakeholders.

Business Operations and Strategic Support
  • Help the CTO run an effective operating cadence across engineering, product, and cross-functional partners.

  • Build, maintain, and analyze spreadsheets, trackers, and operating models related to planning, budgets, headcount, and priorities.

  • Support financial planning activities, including budget tracking, headcount planning, and coordination with Finance.

  • Support product planning activities, including roadmap reviews, planning meetings, dependencies, and follow-through.

  • Drive coordination across teams to ensure decisions, action items, and commitments are captured and executed.

  • Identify process gaps and create lightweight systems, templates, and dashboards to improve execution.

Communication and Coordination
  • Draft clear internal communications, meeting summaries, and action-oriented follow-ups on behalf of the CTO.

  • Partner effectively with leaders and teams across Engineering, Product, Finance, HR, and the Executive Office.

  • Help manage staff meetings, reviews, offsites, and other recurring business rhythms.

  • Track deliverables and proactively surface risks, conflicts, or missed follow-through.

Judgment, Prioritization, and Confidentiality
  • Exercise strong judgment in handling confidential information and sensitive matters.

  • Anticipate issues before they become problems and independently drive resolution where appropriate.

  • Prioritize effectively across competing demands and ambiguous situations.

  • Represent the CTO’s office with professionalism, responsiveness, and sound judgment.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in executive support, business operations, chief of staff support, finance/program coordination, or a comparable role supporting senior executives.

  • Experience supporting a senior executive in a fast-paced technology environment.

  • Strong spreadsheet and analytical skills, including comfort working with detailed planning models and business data.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex calendars, travel, meetings, and executive workflows with minimal guidance.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proven ability to handle multiple priorities independently and operate effectively in ambiguous situations.

  • High level of discretion, professionalism, and judgment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting a CTO, Head of Engineering, Product leader, or similarly technical executive.

  • Experience with financial planning, headcount tracking, annual planning, or operating reviews.

  • Experience supporting product planning processes or cross-functional planning cadences.

  • Strong proficiency with Google Workspace, especially Sheets, Slides, Docs, Gmail, and Calendar.

  • Ability to create structure, improve processes, and drive follow-through across multiple stakeholders.

  • Comfort working with technical leaders and understanding the pace and demands of an engineering-driven organization.

What Success Looks Like
  • The CTO’s time is well-managed and consistently aligned to the highest-priority work.

  • Planning, review, and follow-up processes run smoothly and reliably.

  • Financial and product planning support is accurate, timely, and actionable.

  • Cross-functional coordination is stronger, with fewer dropped balls and clearer accountability.

  • The CTO has a trusted partner who can operate effectively across both administrative execution and strategic business support.

Why This Role Matters

This role is a force multiplier for the CTO & EVP Engineering and, by extension, for the broader engineering organization and company. The right person will create leverage not only by keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly, but also by helping the CTO stay ahead of key strategic, operational, and planning work across engineering.
